Wonderful Book
I love playing The Beatles songs on the guitar. This book is a great companion to exploring the music by playing it. Excellent.

They missed a few...
Where is - Rock and Roll Music - Til There Was You - Little Child - Not A Second Time These are clearly far better than some of the 105 songs that are included here.

A Good Compilation in Traditional Format
Having collected a wide variety of different Beatles music scores both from the period in which they were first originated to the present day, these piano, vocal, guitar arrangements most closely resemble the format that was accessible to guitarists at the time. Specific guitar-based editions of popular music were rare in those days but began to establish themselves due to the success of the Beatles and other sixties groups. What I do like about this collection is that it allows me to do what I did in those days and that is to attempt to replicate the sound as best as I can, using the basic melody and guitar chords as a guide. To this I apply my own elaborations based on what I hear on the recordings. I am sure that other guitarists who were around at that time would appreciate the format as much as I do, even though I imagine that the audience for this compilation is probably pianists.

Comprehensive Music Sheet book
A full comprehensive music sheet book. Not guitar tabs which we had hoped for unfortunately.

Sent it back
The only way to read the music is to destroy the book. Why on earth this isn't loose leaf is one of life's mysteries.

In Sept. 1963 I was holed up in my parents basement, as usual, with my ear pressed up closely to the small transistor radio I carried with me everywhere. The D.J. announced he was going to play two versions of the same song--one by an American band (The Typhoons) and one by this new band out of England. After both versions had been played, he invited listeners to phone in and vote for the version they preferred. The American version won hands-down with many people expressing disgust that a U.S. radio station would dare to play something from another country. And, as they say, the rest is history. Some people have speculated that Wm. Shakespeare never existed because one man could never have written so many brilliant plays. I imagine many years from now skeptics will be saying something similar about Lennon and McCartney. This book is massive, both physically and creatively. It deserves to be kept on your music rack just for the sake of its beauty alone. (I did have to struggle to realign the spiral binding that had shifted during shipping, which almost knocked one star off my rating.) As for the contents, I only have two words: Lennon & McCartney (although George and Ringo manage to score a few hits of their own). At the age of 15 in 1963, I had no concept of musical composition. I knew what I liked and that was that. The more my parents hated something, the more I liked it. They HATED the Beatles, even though me mum was from England herself. At first, I, too, scorned these Liverpool scallywags. But then I heard 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' and my musical world experienced a seismic shift. When Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Pepper's emerged in '67 they became the soundtrack of my college years and I began to appreciate the brilliance behind the music. Playing the songs in this book is an acid-free trip down memory lane for those of us who experienced the Beatles phenomenon first hand. The hooks that thrilled us the first time around are there, front and center, to delight us again. They're also a lesson in musical genius. Time and time again I found myself thinking, "Wow! Look what they did there." The only element that's missing are those unique voices that combined to create a whole that was greater than the sum of its parts. Ironically, the only place you'll hear many of these songs today is in the elevator of a nearby high rise. In fact, John and Paul used to joke that they'd know they had become old men when they started to hear their music in elevators. Some of the fun with this book is giving the songs an elevator or piano bar twist. Give your fingers and your ears a treat and pick up a copy of this book at your earliest convenience. Due to its overwhelming size, the spiral bound version is definitely the best choice. And, yes, most of this brilliance came from two gangly lads from Liverpool. What is it about the British and brilliance?

A fabulous easy play (around grade three level) music book

This is ideal. Clear notation and related chords. Easy to read lyrics. It’s quite a big book but that is expected.

Excellent.
