I've used about 20 of these so far...
I've used about 20 of these so far, so hardly a lot but that does work out at about 10%, and they've been fine. I've put them in using an impact driver and they do appear to prevent splitting. Can't say I know how it works but it does. The heads grip well in the driver and none have broken off or anything like that. I will say that they don't 'cut' in or bite as well as some others I've tried and you do need to get a bit of force behind you but nothing crazy. Rolls Royce
The Rolls Royce of screws in my opinion. I think Spax are probably comparable although I've mainly used Reisser over the last few years for any projects.

Great Screws
These are my go to screws on amazon now.. ive used over 2k of these in various sizes and they are brilliant, always quick delivery and never had a problem, the heads take decent punishment using standard drill or impact driver and countersink VERY well without spliting... highly recomended

It's the first cutter type screws I ever used and I'm quite satisfied. One cautionary note: the countersink head may not work with the top laminate layer of plywood sheets. So you do need to countersink these screws on plywood, otherwise the laminate would peel off in sizeable bits.

Absolutely great screws. No need for a pilot hole. Rate them higher than Spax. Have used over 100 of them in creating a series of raised beds and will have no hesitation in getting again.
