First Impressions good
I have owned many pairs and makes of walking boots ranging from £30 to £200, so these represent the middle ground. My first impressions that these are a well made boot but a word of warning they are a snug fit. I have always been a UK size 11 but these boots are tight. If you want to wear any form of walking sock then buy the size above. I returned a pair of 11’s and settled for a 12 which suited me fine. I have done 4 x four to five mile walks in these boots and they are comfortable but do need wearing in, that said I have suffered no soreness or heel rub that is mentioned in other reviews. These boots have a very wide foot opening which makes taking them on and off very easy, no struggling with a boot remover or forcing your foot in. As for the waterproof qualities, I stood for 2 minutes in a 3 inch deep puddle and there was no water ingress which was pleasing. However the real test of a boots waterproof abilities is walking through wet long grass which will challenge even the very best boot after a few months wear. I will report back on this aspect in due course. All in all I am pleased with my purchase but time will tell on their durability Update (05/03/19) - I have now worn these boots for several weeks. They are comfortable and have proved to be waterproof, upgraded to 5 stars. Update (09/04/19) - I have now walked several hundred miles in these boots in some very wet conditions, they are comfortable and are waterproof. I regularly treat then with dubbin which repels water instantly. Further update (07/11/19) - I have now walked many many miles in these boots. They are very comfortable and are still waterproof but I do dubbin them regularly for extra protection. I would certainly buy these boots again when they eventually wear out. Latest update (08/10/20) - Still going strong after hundreds of miles wear and tear. Still waterproof with regular treatment (Dubbin) and I should get another winter out of them. Final Update (09/04/24) - I have walked many many hundreds of miles (if not thousands) in these boots and they are still going strong but are now reaching the end of their lives as the soles are wearing out. I will without hesitation buy another pair, great endurance and value for money.

Quality Boots
I've had these boots a month now, not long I hear you say to review, but I walk on average 50-70 miles per week, so I've completed over 220 miles in these boots now. And my honest opinion is they are by far the best I've had. I have tried all the well known brands including the more expensive one available and non of them compete with these Grisport. I alway believe long wet grass is a good Challenge for any boot, and to date these have been perfect for keeping my feet dry, plenty of Dubin obviously helps. They have been comfy from day one always a good starting point. In summary these are a quality boot at an affordable price, highly recommended. Update **** I have now had these boots for 18 months and I have walked over 5000 miles in them over the time, the boots have worn well the sole has lost a lot of the tread the heals are also worn but the heal is solid and not hollow, the boots have remained waterproof with no sign of wet feet. I walk along roads fields hills and canal tow paths so a variety of surfaces, I think 5000 miles is testimony to the integrity of these boots, I have a new pair ready to replace these when required.

Good quality hiking boot - but sole tread is not very deep
I purchased these mainly because I need better ankle support. Firstly the sizing is on the small size. I normally take a size 10 and needed a size 11 - so be aware that they may be small on you. The quality looks good straight out of the box. Seams, eyelets and leather all look good and well made. The most pleasing thing so far is that on first use they are so comfortable with no pinching or rubbing even without any breaking in. The higher ankle support and snug ankle fit also provided great support over rougher terrain. They also look a quality boot. Time will tell and this is why only 4 stars until I’ve used them for longer, but first impressions are good and for the Amazon price of £60 it really is a great boot! Update after continued use - as mentioned in the title- the soles when new don’t have a great depth of tread. This is disappointing and means they can be quickly worn down and don’t last that long. This is the biggest flaw of this boot that I have found.

Awesome boots but note sizing
I'm a massive fan of Grisport walking boots. I've had this exact model before and they're still running well - no loss in water resistance and super comfy. I just wanted back-ups with fresher soles. I use them every day (living in hilly Scotland with dogs). Only the (quality Vibram) soles are beginning to wear. I've had much more expensive boots give in (stitching, glue, soles etc) long before these. I will now only buy leather boots as the fabric ones just don't last well in my experience. My only gripe is the sizing. I ordered a size '11' and size a '45' (European) arrived. According to Grisport's own website a 45 is equivalent to a UK 10.5. When I ordered before on Amazon, an 11 arrived as the correct 46. I haven't sent back as they actually fit comfortably and I just won't wear with the thicker socks but it's something to be aware of. I think the size fits are actually fairly generous.

Comfort, sturdiness, price
I originally bought the same boots five years ago. I had bought other brands which have felt too soft, or just didn’t last prior to the first pair. And at a bargain price this time, it was too good a chance to kiss. I have worn them for a couple of days over rough ground and they are spot on. Firm but comfortable.

Best Boots I've tried
After trying various high profile makes such as Salomon etc. which all leaked or cracked after approximately 6 months use - even though retreated as suggested by manufacturer. I do tend to be heavy on boots & shoes for some reason. These were a perfect fit for me straight from the box, but if you wear thick walking socks then I would recommend one size up. I have worn these every day on the marsh for a week now, in rain, sleet etc and they are watertight and extremely comfortable - sincerely hope that they stay that way.

100% recomanable.

I really like my hiking boots. It took a little longer to get them than other brands due to shipping directly from Europe, but they are well worth the wait. The hiking boots are very comfortable, quality made in Italy, and are produced by craftspeople in an environmentally friendly facility. As a person who believes we should seek out products that treat their people and the planet with more dignity, I am truly satisfied with my purchase.
