Essential modern Moroccan with classical roots
This is a beautiful book with clear recipes and gorgeous photography. I have quite a few Moroccan/North African cook books and this will become a favourite. There are seven sections: starters to share, vegetarian dishes, meat, poultry, seafood, breads and sweets. It includes classics you'd expect, traditional recipes from some of Nargisse's family and also modern takes on the style of cuisine which are bright and fresh. The recipes are clearly written and easy to follow and the preambles give serving suggestions and some lovely insights into family life and food. Every Moroccan food fan should have a copy of this to cherish.

Authentic, refreshing, inspiring!
I've been looking online (and in shops in Morocco) for a good Moroccan cookbook with authentic recipes but I could not find anything of quality until now: Casablanca- My Moroccan Food is an amazing collection of authentic recipes from the heart of a Moroccan family passionate about food! The author, Nargisse, also managed to create and include modernised versions of authentic moroccan recipes like her Bakoula stuffed Romano peppers. Modernising typical dishes is something nobody is doing in Morocco today and that's what makes this book so exciting! Having lived most of my life in Morocco, I can vouch for the authenticity of the recipes and I recommend this book to anybody interested in cooking!

Good book but……….
The book is engaging with wonderful tasty recipes easy to assemble and cook. Love the accompanying photographs too….BUT….the book delivered was broken on the end and damaged inside on the corresponding edge…it had obviously been dropped en route. Very disappointed but such a hassle to return/replace…..

This book has amazing looking recipes
This book has amazing looking recipes, the photos are mouth-watering, and its difficult to know which one to try first! I tried the Ras el Hanout Carrot Cake and it was gorgeous, your usual carrot cake with a Moroccan twist. There is a great variety of recipes, and the instructions are easy to follow. I have always loved Moroccan food and can't wait to try more recipes! I highly recommend the book.

Authentic Moroccan recipes
Absolutely delightful book!! Easy to follow recipes that are really tasty... with this book I don't run out of ideas, just a flick through it and I have a great dinner for me and my family. I am Moroccan myself so I want to get the recipes just as my mum used to make them and I find that some of the recipes really are spot on! Bravo Nargisse- you truly are the female version of Jamie Oliver!

the kindle version is excellent
As a 79-year-old lifelong bibliophile I couldn't justify buying yet another hardback book, even though I cook Moroccan food at least twice a week and it looked interesting. I therefore jumped at the Black Friday offer of the kindle version of this book. I like the simple layout for the recipes, and the instructions are very clear and comprehensive. The personal anecdotes are also interesting and informative. All the recipes are readily accessible via the Contents and Index (which, by the way, is excellent) just by two or three 'clicks' on the central control panel of the kindle. I have my eye on the Merguez burgers to start!!

Fascinating
I loved the author's obvious devotion to Moroccan food and the background information she provided. I particularly liked the chapter on bread although I must limit the amount of "everyday bread" that I make as it is so "moreish"! It has joined Delia Smith's "One is fun" as my frequent bedtime reading! Thoroughly recommended.
