It's worth the Money
I read a bunch of reviews on this soundbar so I bought ,let me say it really sounds incredible. Let's start on the packaging very nicely done 5 star on that. The setup, they could have done way better on this I didn't get any instructions with it so that sucked but an hour later figured it out. Sony makes you do all kinds of connecting thru their App which you have to do ,it's definitely not a plug and play. So it's all connected and it does sound incredible. Follow the app steps and the soundbar will send out different sounds to learn the room for optimum performance..and you can reset it for different rooms if needed. It's pricy for sure but we'll worth it. Enjoy. Update ..so I mounted this with no wires being shown but what a pain, you woukd think when they made this all the wires would be on 1 side ,not the case. So beware if your going to mount this your going to be making extra holes in the wall. Good luck.

The Sound Quality is the only thing I like
This sound bars deserves 3.5 so I'll round up to 4. I've had this 6 months now or so. Time for a review. The sound is GREAT. I have the rear speakers as well and this is the best sound system I've ever had, hands down. Even if it was ridiculously expensive, even compared to my last bose system. But there is a lot to down right hate. Set up is a PITA. You will be downloading an app and running software. Trying to figure out how to integrate it into my Bravia TV was not straight forward. It has a remote, but to configure it you will be using the app (what happens when they drop the app as others have done in the past??) The app is annoying enough, but even more annoying is you periodically have to re-authenticate. So you want to make a change but instead have to mess around with recalling your log-in, doing 2FA, etc. I don't appreciate this when all I want to do is relax and watch TV. The volume control has an irritating delay. Even on Sony's own remote, if you press the volume button 5 times quick to get the volume under control, you will see the volume indicator on the TV slowly work its way down. Originally I could use my Roku to adjust the volume and see the volume level. Evidently on a recent update they broke/took that away. If you want to see the volume level, you have to use the remote (or your phone). Once in a while, the soundbar disconnects from the TV. Multiple times I wasted 15 minutes+ trying to get sound back. Finally I figured out the only way to get it back it to turn the TV of and back on. The sound bar connects to your network via WiFi. So, of course, Sony has it phoning home to report something, who know what. I use PiHole to block all such telemetrics and I can see it trying to access the mother ship.

Yep, it's got the "wow" factor
I initially listened to this sound bar at Best Buy and loved it, but for the cost I couldn't justify buying it, till I got home. I bought a new Sony 75 inch X90L and since I had a beautiful picture why not have some awesome sound to match it. I mean for a sound bar it's pretty dang good. I've played different movies with different sound play back and they all sound great. Dolby Atmos really does work quite well. I will probably end up buying some Sony wireless speakers to really make the sound pop. The bass is pretty good already. It's not a house rattling bass, but for now it's good enough.

ANOTHER PIECE OF JUNK FROM SONY.
My older soundbar with 4 speakers had better sound than this piece of crap. If you can download the app, I don’t really see benefits by having it. The sound is lousy for the number of speakers this unit has. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Integrates well with with Sony Bravia TV
Great soundbar! You will think you got a new TV as the sound is so good. The Bar8 spatial sound add significantly more enjoyment to movies and 4K programs. I’ve paired this with an SW3 subwoofer and a Sony - 55" Class BRAVIA XR A80L OLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV. Using the Sony Bravia Connect app makes the setup easy! On my particular television, the TV front panel becomes the center channel. Bravo Sony!

Does not work as ecpected.
This item was purchased with a 65" Sony flat screen. They do not cooperate at all. It also requires a special ARC cord, which is fine, but should be included for $800+. I waited too long to return it, but am switching to a new unit.

Just get 7.1 system and avoid bar 8
Bought the bar 8 after much research out on reddit and reviews wherever i could find. Arrived without any damage but looked like it was a returned product as some of packaging was already open. Setup looked pretty simple with the app. Only thing was software update took 40mins easy and stuck at 65% for most time. The sound was great but for a 5.0.2 channel config. I am used to my master series a90j sound thats great and bar 8 sound was instantly dissappointing. Spent whole day tweaking settings on tv and bar 8 but couldnt justify since bar 8 couldnt sound same/better than my a90j from 2021. In a medium-large living room this just wasnt cutting it. Maybe sony doesnt want to undermine the master series sound or bar 8 is for those computer monitors, i just dont understand its placement anymore and the discounted pricing of $700 now makes more sense. Just get the 7.1 system(sonos arc or bar 9) and avoid bar 8 altogether if you have similar or better setup than me. No wonder not many people are talking about it online, i was considering building out with bar 8- rear speakers and sub but i dont see a point now.

I recently got my hands on the Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8, and it has truly transformed my home entertainment setup! First off, its design is incredibly sleek and modern, seamlessly blending into my living room without taking up much space. But what truly blew me away was the sound quality. After connecting it to my Sony A80K TV, I enabled the Acoustic Center Sync feature – and wow, what a game-changer! Dialogue and vocals feel like they're coming directly from the center of the TV screen, perfectly syncing with the visuals. That common issue of dialogue sounding "below" the screen is completely gone. When watching movies, the Theatre Bar 8's immersive surround sound and powerful bass (which is impressive even without an external subwoofer) make me feel like I'm right there in the cinema. Every detail, from subtle ambient sounds to booming explosions, is delivered with incredible clarity and impact. It truly brings Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks to life, with sound moving all around you for a truly enveloping experience. Overall, if you're looking for an ultimate audio-visual experience, especially when paired with a Sony BRAVIA TV, the Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 is absolutely a flagship soundbar worth every penny. Highly recommended!

I already using a 65 inch Bravia TV and sound was nice.. I thought of giving a try for soundbar and chose BAR 8 as it’s not small not big .. Guess what it changed my whole perception of music .. it’s awesome with good bass and sound Next step would be to use subwoofer but it’s not mandatory as sound bar itself provide good bass If you love music you must try it

Very nice sound. I love sony. When you are watching movie with 5.1 audio you have increase the volume to atleast 40 to 50 then only you will enjoy it's quality.
