TIGER NUTS - SUPREME PEELED(12 oz) | Gluten Free, High Fiber, Gluten, Non-GMO

I bought it for the resistant starch, per the Free the Animal blog. They are slightly sweet and a little bit chewy. A handful makes a very satisfying snack, especially great when I'm busy at work. And you can't beat the customer service. The owner calls everyone who buys Tiger Nuts to thank them personally. A very nice touch. :) Delivery took a little longer than I'd hoped, but I'll just make sure to place my next order well before I run out of my current bag.

They had a lemon flavor to them, not sure if it's used in the peeling process. These are much more palatable than the ones with the skin on. I soaked them overnight, and they got nice and crispy, and the lemon flavor seemed to dissipate some.

I was really excited to try this product. Was I ever disappointed. They are so hard, you can't chew them. They suggest roasting them? Hello! If they are hard in the first place, what would they be like roasted? Waste of my time and money.

I ordered these because the brand I usually buy was back-ordered. I did not get this bag of peeled nuts, but instead a chopped version. Not what I wanted, and more difficult to use them in the way I wish, but the taste is fine. I most likely won't purchase it again because of the mix-up. UPDATE: there was something hard and gritty in this mix that I bit down on and CHIPPED a BACK TOOTH. I am now going to have to have expensive dentistry to repair the damage. Do NOT buy this product!

I was hesitant to try these, given concerns about taste and texture, but I find them to be excellent. They actually taste really good, slightly nutty as other people comment. They can also be chewed FOREVER if you want, but you do not need to chew them extensively to swallow them. I love gnawing on things (plum pits, peach pits, cherry pits, etc.), so i will grind these into a very fine (but slightly gritty) powder before swallowing with some hunger. They definitely fill you up and keep you from eating garbage all day. I eat four or five at a time, a couple times a day, and they tide me over.

All in all, it's good, but I prefer the ones with the peel...they seemed to have more flavor and texture. These have a very faint almond/coconut flavor, in my opinion.

Missed the Spanish horchata I had in Valencia and Barcelona, so thought I'd try making it at home. Turned out pretty well. Was able to make a satisfying amount.
