updated review after 4 bottles. I bought this originally to help treat my cat for an autoimmune disease Pemphigus foliaceus (PF). I used it both orally and topically. It did seem to work along with the steroids injections given by the vet. He is in remission but I will definitely buy more to keep on hand. New... I have been using this over the past year to disinfect the water filters for my cat fountains, use for cuts or cat scratches and so forth. It has truly been remarkable. My biggest results came from cutting my leg with a molding nails at it was sticking out of my doorway. It was quick and deep at least an eighth of an inch deep and an inch long. it was so deep that it didn't even start bleeding until a minute or two later. I went straight for my silver bottle and put a few drops on the open cut then applied a Band-Aid with some on the pad. The next day I removed the Band-Aid to check the cut and it was completely sealed. I thought for sure it would open with infection but it wasn't even sore to the touch. One day and it actually healed. This was something that probably could have used a stitch to hold it closed. I also contribute the seal from my waterproof clear Band-Aids because they securely held everything in place. I have had my share of cats scratches and a few bites with my rescue kittens. As soon as I am scratched I immediately put a drop on the scratch and rub it in. If it is a puncture I immediately put a dropper to and rub it deep into the puncture. So far I have not had any infections at all since I've been doing this. Several years ago one of my cats got tangled in the blinds and I was new to being a cat mom. I immediately try to pick him up to free him from the Tangled lines and he bit me and punctured the top of my hand.. within 10 minutes my hand started to tingle and swell. Within an hour I was at an exigent center getting a tetanus shot and antibiotics. I did immediately wash my hands with any bacterial soap and deeply rubbed that soap into the tooth puncture but it did not help. I learned a valuable lesson back then about cats and about the dangers of ignoring a bite from a cat. I was lucky because I sought treatment immediately. After seeing my doctor a few days later he told me I did the best thing by getting it checked out because others he had seen previously had severe infections that cost extensive damage. I have to brag about this particular brand!! Okay, so my daughter picked up the flu 3 weeks ago, and after nursing her back to health, I caught it. I won’t name the brand, but I was using one with only 10 PPM, and wondering why I wasn’t getting any better. I tried a 2nd brand, used the whole bottle. Was still coughing and sneezing & made my family think I had pneumonia. Wasted $!! So today, I get THIS gem in the mail. Didn’t try it until a few hours ago, and OMG! I can’t believe this. Within an hour, I’m sitting here with CLEAR sinuses, no coughing, congestion is barely there. I’m usually skeptical by nature. That’s just how I am. Especially when it comes to natural antibiotics. But like I said, I tried 2 other brands, and I knew that 10 PPM apparently wasn’t enough to get the job done. Now I realize the 10 PPM is better for immune MAINTENANCE. This one, being 250 PPM, is best used for acute illnesses. Our grandparents used colloidal silver all the time. And YES, the higher the PPM levels, the darker the color will be. Please note: only the 10 PPM & lower, will be clear in color. In fact, the Amber color in the higher concentrations lets you know that it’s genuine colloidal silver. This is a fact. And it’s apparent by how well this stuff works! Also, I noticed that it brings on a better sense of well-being. I guess because it’s helping our gut, which does have a connection to our brain health. IMO, this brand, the grade, the quality, is all top notch. Remember, higher PPM is good for acute sicknesses. Lower PPM helps maintain & build the immune system. My (soon to be former, useless) vet extracted a tooth from one of my dog's mouth--the poor dog suffers from Stomatitis and is allergic to the plaque on her teeth. (I brush daily, use rinses, gels, etc., etc.). I thought all was well, until 2wks later, when I was going to start brushing again (I had been just rubbing the gel on, with my finger) I looked into my dog's mouth and her gums were still bloody and raw!! The idiot of a vet, hadn't scheduled a follow-up visit, so I knew I'd have to pay another $60 exam fee. Instead, I looked online for a high quality Colloidal Silver and found this. It is a HUGE value for the money and worked wonderfully. Within *2* days, the dog's gums were pink and normal looking again. I have continued to use it, just in case and am now on subscription, to hopefully keep the bacteria at bay. I can't afford to keep paying as much as $2000 for teeth cleanings and extractions. But most importantly, I don't want my poor little dog suffering. For those of you saying that this stuff isn't what is advertised--YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!! I have a bottle of 10ppm and it is slightly amber colored, but of course didn't work nearly as well as this one and cost a heck of a lot more. This was a VERY good purchase and I am so grateful to Amazon, for carrying such a high-quality, natural alternative to antibiotics.
