Effective product
We have been using this powder on our dog’s food for about a month and have already seen such an improvement! Our lab/beagle mix has had tartar and bad breath for years and the vet has recommended a dental, though no actual issues were identified. Given that my dog is 11, the anesthesia made me worry about doing the procedure (not too mention the high cost). My dog seems to like the taste of the powder, his breath is so much better now, and my husband I have both noticed a huge improvement in the tartar buildup on his teeth. We have not noticed any side effects and he actually seems to want to play more and chew on toys again.

It is a miracle!
My cats have perfect teeth! After having to spend hundreds to have my cat anesthetized for teeth cleaning and having her develop gum disease, my vet suggested this powder for my next cat. She is 5 now, and her teeth are immaculate.

Works well for dogs breath
Made my dogs breath smell a ton better. My dog is 4 and vet recommended this product. It's not made to remove hard tarter that's already there and I understood that. The ingredients are an interesting mix and it smells like licorice. My dog didnt mind the smell or taste when sprinkled on his food from the first day. Kind of pricy if your dog is big but way cheaper than $900 for a vet dental cleaning.

Best for maintaining, and dogs LOVE the taste
Like other reviews have stated, dogs really like the taste of this stuff. That’s half the battle ;-) I adopted a nine year old dachshund who appeared to have never seen a vet aside from obvious signs of previous pregnancy and a spray scar. Dachshund teeth are notoriously bad and her teeth were... green. They were rotting in her poor mouth. There is no product on the planet that can fix that aside from a professional dental cleaning from a vet. She had to have three teeth removed, which is not as bad as I thought it would be. Back to this product... I add 1/4 teaspoon to her food twice a day, which is the recommended amount based on her weight. In the four months before her dental, this really improved her breath and plaque. There was no change in the amount of tartar, but there was less swelling in her gums. Based on this, I think it’s a great product for maintaining your pet’s oral health, but it won’t reverse years of periodontal disease, nor will it have any significant impact on tartar. I’ve bought water additives, sprays and gels for her, but they either haven’t worked or she wouldn’t tolerate them. I haven’t come across a product that is this effective, this easy to administer, and one that she clearly enjoys besides this. Of course, brushing is the best possible option, but my old girl has been through a lot and I’m not going to wrestle her and put her through regular brushing at this point. I realize that this is very expensive if you have a large dog. But if it can prevent a $900 vet bill, or turn that $900 cleaning to a $500 one, it might be worth it. After reading the reviews, I’m glad to see other vets recommending this product. Consumer confidence is always nice.

Toxic for small dogs or cats!!
Vetriscience is a 40 year old company that I typically trust. I purchased this for my 3-lb Pomeranian to use alongside the 1-TDC gel caps and daily brushing. However, I would not recommend using it for cats or very small dogs. The dosing can be tricky, and their smaller size makes them more vulnerable to potential side effects. If you research “natural zeolites,” you’ll find they are known for their ability to bind heavy metals such as arsenic and lead. Zeolites are naturally occurring minerals found in volcanic rock formations and marine sedimentary layers. Zeolite is a family of naturally occurring (and sometimes synthetic) microporous aluminosilicate minerals that act as ion-exchange adsorbents. Common types include clinoptilolite, chabazite, mordenite, analcime, erionite, ferrierite, heulandite, laumontite, and phillipsite. This product is typically sprinkled onto food, but since dogs often sniff their meals before eating, there is a real concern about inhalation. In powdered form, zeolite can become airborne, and inhaling mineral dust may irritate the lungs. While not all zeolites are harmful, some forms like erionite are classified as carcinogens when inhaled, and it’s best to avoid chronic exposure to any fine mineral dust in pets. The term “natural” has become a bit of a marketing buzzword, often implying purity or safety without clear definition. Even “natural” zeolites can bind essential minerals like zinc, copper, and magnesium, potentially leading to nutrient deficiencies and placing extra stress on the kidneys over time. This could be particularly harmful in small breeds or pets with pre-existing kidney issues. While zeolites can help break down bacterial biofilms, such as those that cause plaque, I believe VetriScience could have opted for a less risky ingredient in a product intended for daily use. The mineral-binding properties are a double-edged sword: potentially beneficial for detox or oral health, but not without risks—especially for tiny dogs whose liver may not tolerate this.

Ok
Ok. Dog didn’t seem to mind. Not sure if it cleaned his teeth but helped with bad breath

Buy this if your dog’s breath smells like cow poop!!
I can’t comment yet about how well this works on tartar or plaque but holy cow…. And I use the word cow literally because my girl’s breath smelled like I was driving past a dairy farm and let me tell you; that stinks!!! After just three days her breath is incredible. Before, I could tell when she entered a room without seeing her and now there is no stink!! I am in no way, shape or form connected with this company; this is my totally honest review. All I can say is wow!!! Just a quarter teaspoon added to her food, so easy. I am so impressed!

recommended by our vet
Our vet recommended this product. Love the sprinkle shaker, easy to use, least messy out of the dog tooth powder options. Our dogs don’t notice anything and just gobble it up with their kibble.

Works great! My chihuahuas almost 16 and he’s had bad teeth and gums….Also has knock out gas breath lol (Kisses are not a problem..Today people won’t drop dead or run if kissed by him 😚💗🐕). My best friend means allot and he loves these things very much! Pretty picky with other dog treats, but he really loves these thank goodness 🦴🥳😊 Got him this because I can’t afford the vet cost at the moment…and don’t want to take out a bank loan lol. Only complaint is I wish the cost didn’t fluctuate, especially after I purchased it. It’s gone up 10 bucks since I purchased it, so hopefully it doesn’t go up more. 🙏 Hope the price goes down soon, however my little dude is small and doesn’t need a big dose thankfully. Sooner pay for this then the vet cost any day regardless. Happy to find this product, it’s definitely worth the cost as it works well within a few days or less. Plaque is seriously visibly reduced dramatically..his gum bleeding has pretty much disappeared also.

I love this product. I read somewhere that it helps stop the tear stains in white dogs so as I have a Maltese, I decided to try it. I think it works by killing the bacteria that causes the staining. It worked very well and I sent for more. Highly recommended.

I give it to my dogs daily. It’s good for oral health, bad breath, etc. the only issue I have is that I buy this product every few weeks. I think a discount should be given to frequent customers. I am searching for a cheaper alternative!
