I bought the Kaco Gel Pens after hearing that staff at Aesop stores use them, and I have to say, the rumors were right—the design is absolutely stunning. I have used these pens for work (I’m a nurse) for over a year. They are the real deal! I’m territorial over these pens because they are so nice, and I even carry a cheap “loaner pen” so I never risk giving one of these away. They write super smoothly, no smudging, nice consistent fine lines, and I love the way the matte finish feels in my hand. I’m writing this review as I repurchase them because I’ve finally reached for the last 2 in the box.

I just got these today and they’re great. They fell like a gel pen, the .5mm is very small and clean. But they don’t smudge and dry quickly. Great pen, will definitely buy more!

Obsessed with these pens. I keep buying them because everyone in my family steals them constantly! They smudge a little right off the bat, but dry quickly. The fine point tip is so clean and smooth. They’re a little pricey but absolutely worth it. I’ve noticed the black ones tend to work better, just in general.

I bought these twice already. I really love the pen, it writes very smoothly. However, there's like a 10-20% failure rate. Some of the pens in the pack will not work after a while, even though there is still plenty of ink. I tried blowing them and used tips from Reddit, but no luck.

As someone who does an extraordinary amount of writing with pens, I have always been looking for the "best pen." Last year I was using the Sharpie S-Gel (another fantastic pen) but was gifted a Kaco 0.5 PURE and I have not gone back. In fact, not only have I now probably purchased about 3 boxes of pens for myself, but I gave a box of Kaco PURE pens to everyone in my family for Christmas last year. These pens write smoothly, feel great in your hand, have an excellent click to them, and they just work well! I've had maybe only 1 pen that I had a problem with skipping. If you are someone that wants some color, there is also plenty of variety with the entire pack of colored pens (which I'll be purchasing soon). The best pen that I have ever used, and a great value for the price.

New favorite pen! Comes out very smooth and consistent. Dried very quickly and never bleeds, even during pauses. The design is functional, simple, and fits in your hand easily. The money value of these pens have made it my new everyday writing tool.

I will say for the price, these pens are great! But they have one major flaw that ruins the functionality. First, the feel is incredible , the smoothness of writing is amazing, rarely skip or scratch on the paper. I started using them on high quality paper but also tested them on cheap paper. Unfortunately, no matter the paper quality, the ink smears and smudges. That’s the only flaw with these pens. They are not quick drying as described. In fact, they don’t dry it all. Even after a day or two of dry time, they still smudge terribly. On cheap paper the smudging isn’t as intense but still noticeable. If the ink was quick drying and didn’t smear or smudge, these would be a knockout! But for my purposes, they just will not work for me. If you’re writing on cheap notebook paper or lined paper, I would recommend these solely on the comfortability and writing experience.
