I recently decided to start getting back into makeup and, while I already own a few brushes I got off of Shein a couple years ago, I decided to treat myself to some new brushes because who doesn't like to use cute brushes to do their makeup? I was looking around when I came across the listing for these BS-Mall brushes. I liked the simple white and black colors, but I saw these pink ones and knew they were for me. In other reviews, the brushes looked nice and soft, sturdy, and like they were a decent size. Others said there was a strong aroma once they opened their package, but that didn't scare me away from wanting to buy these and give 'em a try. And for $13? What did I have to lose. I received them yesterday and right off the bat I was greeted with a strong scent of acetone or something similar, but I left the brushes laid out on my desk overnight and the smell's pretty much gone. You'd have to bury your nose in the brushes themselves to get a small whiff, but it's not noticeable anymore so that problem's taken care of. Anyways, I was super excited when I opened them up because I personally think they look like high-end makeup brushes. They appear to be fully functional, I used them after taking these photos and they did a great job picking up product for my makeup application, the small fluffy ones did a great job blending out my eyeshadows, and none of these poked or jabbed me as I pat them or ran them against my face. I haven't noticed any shedding besides one bristle sticking out of one of the bigger brushes (you might be able to spot it in my pictures), and I believe you get a good bang for your buck. Whether you've been using makeup since you were an adolescent or if you have a niece/daughter/granddaughter/friend wanting to get into makeup, I think these brushes would be a great gift for them or yourself. They don't feel cheap and janky to me and they get the job done.

Great brush set for the price. You get a good mix for face and eyes, and they’re super soft without shedding everywhere. They pick up and blend product really well, especially for everyday makeup. The black case is a nice bonus for keeping everything together. Solid quality without spending a ton.

These are good cheap brushes. I deliberately left out a comma there because these are cheap brushes in that they are cheaply made - the barrel is light (thus they won't balance very well) and the metal band is not crimped to give extra stability to the bristles, but where they did pay attention was in the synthetic fibers and the density and shape of the brushes, and for the price you really can't ask for more. These are soft and almost perfectly shaped - you will see some hairs sticking up where they weren't perfectly cut, but you can either pull these or snip them off to match the others. The fibers are NOT loose, just a few get missed in the cut. These also come with a "factory fresh" smell of plastic and glue, meaning they were chunked out of a machine, shrink wrapped and bottled up and the glue cured in transit. (Just wash them to get rid of the smell and the dust from manufacturing.) A nice touch is that the large brushes come wrapped in one of those mesh protectors we all paid money for in the 2000s. You can reuse them to shape your brush after washing. Speaking of washing you will definitely have to be careful with these not to get water above the ferrule (the metal band that protects the base of the fibers). This part has a visible gap where it meets the brush handle, so don't go hog wild immersing these in a cup or whatever. Just wash and rinse without soaking the handle and you'll be fine. Use warm water, not hot, use a detergent wash instead of dunking it in straight detergent, which will eventually loosen the glue. I would compare these to the E.L.F $1 brushes or whatever cost they are now (the cheapest ones they sell for everyday use). I used to be a makeup artist and my good brushes are finally showing their age so I wanted to get some more that would perform well but that I didn't mind abusing, and plenty so I could switch out what I was doing. I do wish there were 2 of the eyeshadow brush (which looks like it will be a dream to use) and a larger paddle brush, so I wouldn't say this would set you up as a complete starter set, but if you are replacing you'll be happy with the selection of brushes here. Also it comes with a compact storage bucket that fully closes, further adding to the value! Really pleased with this purchase.

These are very good makeup brushes. Very sturdy and super soft. They come in a container with a lid. Each brush was individually wrapped to perfection. 18 brushes! Perfect amount for use of everything you need and then some! Color is exactly as you see in the advertisement. They were shipped out very quickly and delivered on delivery date provided. I DO recommend!

I absolutely love these brushes! It comes with a variety of brushes and they work very well. I've used them for foundation, eyeshadow blending, and powders. They're easy to clean and easy to use. They came with a travel case that I used as a brush holder. I got the light pink ones while they were on sale and it was such a great price for how many brushes came in the set and the good quality. I will definitely repurchase them in other colors!

I bought three of these sets for my daughters birthday party last may and they were great! She has other more expensive brushes but she says that these are the same quality. She tells all of her friends that these are such a good “hack” as they are a great price for what they are! Super soft bristles and a brush for everything. She will be buying more for her friends birthday soon.

Great variety of brushes and they are super soft. But I’m pretty disappointed. I wash my brushes every two weeks and already after 4 months the brush hairs are coming out in huge chunks. I’m going to have to buy a new set. Overall, save your money and get some better brushes unless you want to replace them quickly. I’m very disappointed. My last set of makeup brushes from a different brand lasted years no prone. These only 4 months? Waste of money
