The metal construction should be durable. I think that a modification to allow magnetic catches to be fitted to keep the flaps closed tightly would be a good addition. It looks neat except for a couple of things: 1) The pieces coming forward from the ends of the back plate are not long enough to hide the rods when the box is closed (see photograph); 2) The Nyloc nuts stand out—a threaded sleeve would have been tidier. According to the pithy instructions, there is a template on the box, but I did not see it. In any case, it is easy enough to mark up the wall with a spirit level and an assistant and the slotted screw holes give a bit of wriggle room to level it up if necessary. If using the plugs, leave the screws loose enough in the plugs to allow easy location of the heads in the holes in the back of the rack, then tighten the screws while holding the rack against the wall. There is no indication of drill size for the plugs but I found 6·5 mm worked well. The screws are longer than the plugs, so make sure you drill to an appropriate depth. Overall, I am fairly happy with the appearance and the functionality and I would buy again.

These look great in our utility and do the job we brought them for. However we have two from this company and one that was £20 cheaper which I brought more recently as we wanted a 3rd airer. I didn’t see the cheaper one when I order these but it is just as good and looks almost like it’s made in the same factory. I could have got 3 for the price of 2 from that company vs this one! I’ve marked the stars down for this reason. Fantastic compact airers for everyday use, especially in the winter but overpriced from this retailer.
