Easy to Use and Effective
I needed to reroute several cables in my attic, including Cat6, security, and garage sensor wiring. This punch-down tool made the job much easier than I expected. It’s simple to use, does what is expected, and saved me a lot of time. Highly recommended.

not compatible with 110 punch down tools
I wish I didn't buy three orders of these. now its too late to return and I have wasted money on a product I can't use. I have tried various types of 110 punch down tools but it won't fit the slots like typical patch panels or keystone jacks. perhaps a krone tool will work but I don't use krone on my typical installs. I have only used 110 punch downs for networking during the past 30 years of work.

Great repair device
Use these to splice a long run of cat five wire. I accidentally broke the wire when digging a trench it would be impossible to rerun this particular wire as it goes through a finished area of the faulted ceiling. This device allowed me to splice the end and add some new wire.

These work well with a Krone punch down tool.
A 110 blade punch down is not going to cut off the wire ends. That might work if you cut the ends off with small wire cutters. I bought this because I have the Krone tool.

Horrible Design but can be made to work. Worry about RFI
The other reviews that say you cannot use a punchdown tool with this are absolutely correct. It is unfortunate that Amazon offers a bundle with a punchdown tool because it will be worthless for this application. Clearly the Chinese factory this came out of knew NOTHING about telephony. Nor had they ever tried to USE this thing. The ONLY way to "punch down" the wires is very carefully with eye-glasses repair sized straight blade screwdriver. It is VERY difficult and this is a remarkably TERRIBLE design. But it does work. It makes a good physical connection and is HOPEFULLY superior for cable splicing to an RJ-45 coupler. I worry about RFI and what it will do to signal quality. But once you figure out a way to attach the wires it will hold them in place.

Very useful but niche item. We needed this for a server relocation on a set timeline. The item went from 2 days to 2 weeks delivery. Amazon refunded the transaction, I'm not sure what happened to cause such a delay but if you need this, order it with time to spare. This is a hard to find item and is a lifesaver when you need to do a solid splice.
