Leica M10: The Expanded Guide Review: A must buy for the M10 user - I just bought a used, like new with box and contents, M10-P and since it has been a while since I used a digital M I decided to try this book. Part of the reason is Leica no longer includes a comprehensive manual, only a small nearly useless getting started type guide. I was happy to see right off the bat that the size of this guide is large enough to allow lots of content and be readable. Its not a small pocket/ camera bag size as many camera guides are. The main font used is a bit fine but very readable to my 74 year old eyes with the reading glasses I use for any book. I hesitated in buying this guide due to the negative reviews saying how bad the font is but very glad I ignored them as this book has got me up to speed fast on the operation of my new M. Every detail of operation is clearly laid out in words as well as photos / diagrams. For instance the standard center weighted metering pattern is shown along with pros and cons of it and tips on how to work with it. Also, under the JPG options not only is B&W of course shown but how to shoot B&W JPG properly using filters just as you would with B&W film for contrast of blue skies etc. I sometimes use contrast filters when shooting my film Leica's but for some reason never thought of the need for digital B&W. Just a couple examples of how this book is written. Menus items and options under each item are all shown in detail as well as of course how to use the favorites and user profiles. An excellent index at the back of the book gets you to what you are looking for. The only small negative I have seen is of course this book can not be updated every time Leica does a firmware change but the only difference I have seen from my updated M10-P and the book is the book was printed before the FOTOs app. Review: Good accompaniment to Leica M10 - Excellent reference book and clearly written. Seller delivery time was awful.

Better than the manual
Better reading and explanations than the Leica camera manual. Arrangement of topics is more logical and more info is included. The Kindle version allows me to have the manual on my iPhone and iPad wherever I am. Recommended

I recommend for new m users. No regrets.
I have no regrets with this purchase. It was easier to read and navigate and more comprehensive than M10 manual

goes into more detail than the manual with better pictures and illustrations
Very informative, goes into more detail than the manual with better pictures and illustrations. Has a great chapter on lens for the Leica and also range focusing. Would definitely bye it again.

This is good book however I did not learn anything. The leica M is quiet simple technically and the photographic concepts are usually know when you buy such camera. So it is expensive for a simple extended notice. Why do I see good because at least I have a manual.

Almost never write reviews but having briefly looked through my new guide I’d have to say it appears to be comprehensive and beautifully printed, totally unlike another reviewers experience. I would say you could order with confidence, I’m very pleased.
