My granddaughter loved this it’s such a fun gift! She loved the colour of her mermaid it’s a normal size Barbie and is great quality and a sturdy present!

This doll is a stunning barbie mermaid. She has been unofficially named as the “ k-pop mermaid “ & I can see why as she is pastel lavender purple with a few shades of pink & yellow. Overall she’s very pleasing to look at She has the closed mouth odeile face sculpt which is amazing as her mold is normally exclusively used on OOAK or Limited Edition Barbie dolls designed by angel Kent (@angeldreamscometrue). I’m exited to see if this mold is used more frequently. She has saran doll hair in a lavender shade with a few pink streaks around her fringe which is a great thing as this shows Mattel can make good quality play line dolls still. Her face has the pixelation technique which Mattel use almost exclusively now which from a distance it’s not noticeable but up close it really is noticeable in certain light. Her top is molded shells that have been painted intricately, which is where most of the budget has also gone too. It’s cute but I feel it takes an away far too much attention from the best part of a mermaid : her tail. The tail is a solid lavender with molded scales which in theory is cute however it could use more detail like in the original concept art she had hip fins & what looks like a gradient ( which I may bling up her tail to have a gradient) . Overall she is a great doll as she is but could have been a lot better. For anyone wanting to re-body her, she is a match with the tennis player MtM barbie & the purple top Asian MtM barbie.

I love this Odile face mold as she has lovely brown eyes. As many Barbie collectors will understand, I rebodied her on the Tennis Player. Nothing went to waste as the mermaid got a new head and was passed on to my young nieces who love her. Well worth the price

I got it on offer for my besties little girl (I’m her god mum) and it was better than I thought it would turn out to be… she’s a beautiful dolly I just wanted to get her mermaid doll she can damage she was too little for the other one she wrecked it haha
