Okay, just hear me out. This is actually a good movie. I think the hate was forced and wasn’t fair for it to be judged how it was. Most people’s minds were made up before they had seen it. There are so many little references to previous movies to celebrate 100 years of Disney.

A pleasant and perfectly watchable tribute to 100 years of Disney magic!
Wish is Disney's centennial celebration, designed to feel like a journey through the studio's animation history. The story follows Asha, a spirited 17-year-old who lives in the kingdom of Rosas, ruled by the charismatic but secretly controlling King Magnifico (voiced by Chris Pine). When Asha discovers Magnifico is suppressing the wishes of his people, she makes her own heartfelt plea to the cosmos, answered by a magical, silent being known as Star. The film is visually distinct, blending traditional watercolor aesthetics with modern 3D CGI to create a storybook look. It features an array of upbeat, if not immediately iconic, new songs. While it touches upon classic Disney themes—following your heart, overcoming tyranny, and the power of dreams—the narrative sometimes feels overly focused on referencing past films rather than forging its own path. However, the energy, the charming sidekick characters (especially Star), and the strong vocal performances make it a pleasant and perfectly watchable tribute to 100 years of Disney magic.

Premetto che non lo avevo visto al cinema, ma ricordavo le tante e immeritate recensioni negative. Al contrario, il film è veramente bello, sia come trama, che come musiche e come animazione. Riguardo proprio a questo ultimo aspetto credo sia uno dei film visivamente più belli usciti dopo l'avvento dell'animazione digitale. Lo sviluppo della storia è molto lineare. Pur non avendo alcuna pretesa di essere il classico Disney più bello in assoluto, è un cartone godibilissimo, un piccolo gioiello in cui si possono riscontrare i messaggi e i valori tipici della filosofia disneyana!

I was so thrilled to be able to get this DVD through Amazon. I tried all DVD outlets stores in Australia and could not find a copy anywhere. It was a little bit dearer than what I pay for a DVD but it was worth it. Delivery was quick.
