Mutated Pan Does Wonders!
I cook often and have used many brands of saute/frying pans and this here beats most. This pan evenly cooks foods, is quick to heat, and is easy to clean. The oval design was odd at first but offers no difference to a great cooking experience. The only complaint would be the lack of a rigged bottom surface to hold the pan on the stove while stirring or shifting. I tend to quickly stir or shift foods one-handed while handling the lid but now there is need to place the lid down and use the handle. Other than for that minor triviality, the pan is awesome. Enjoy yourself!

Best pan ever!
This is actually the second pan Of its kind that I've purchased. I loaned my first one to my mother and she loved it so much that I never got it back. This is just a great pan for everything. It's great for Browning meat or cooking sausage and even scrambled eggs. I really haven't run across anything that it doesn't work for. The size is what makes it so usable. It's big enough to hold large quantities but not so big that it's cumbersome. Highly recommend. I happen to have a cooktop that allows for two burners to heat and the middle space to heat as well. I don't know that it would work well for a cooktop that didn't have that feature. If you have the ability to cook across the link of your stove top surface, then this pan is great.

The Best Pan & a Choice Buy
I adore this pan. It is spacious enough for me to cook double batches and freeze half. If you fry, the walls are high, which causes less (if any) splatter. You can saute, fry, even boil noodles in this puppy. This is my go to pan, I have bought two in the past 6 years. I have only made a second purchase due to my ex putting the first one in the dishwasher, which discolors it. He still uses it, though, and it works just the same. The lid comes with it, unlike one of her larger skillets. I rather enjoy the handle on the other side of the pan, opposite the main handle. They both are a soft, yet sturdy, material. If you use a gas range, please be careful with the back handle as it will catch on fire. A fantastic buy!

A Great Versatile Pan with this Unique Design!
This is a wonderful versatile 5 quart cooker. This is my 3rd Rachel Ray Hard Anodized piece and I really love them all. It's only my wife and I at home but we like to cook lots of vegetables and we like to cook large meals on our day off to prepare meals ahead of time for the week. So for us this pan is not too large. We also like to entertain so although we don't use this piece on a daily basis it still comes in so handy and is very useful. I've used it to cook a large batch of scrambled eggs when I've had my friends come over for a big breakfast. I've also used it this past Christmas to make a large batch of Sausage Peppers & Onions. I really like the oval shape because when I'm using my stove to cook several dishes the oval shape allows me to use both large burners at the same time. For me that is an awesome feature. However, just be aware that since it is oval the entire bottom of the pan will not be sitting on the burner. For me it's great because similar to a barbecue grill I have some spots in the pan that I can move food around to cook slower (like some parts of chicken which cook faster). The positive point of being able to use two large burners at the same time to be cooking a large quantity of food out weighs the fact that this entire bottom is not on the heating element, although it still heats relatively even. Apparently some people who have purchased this pan didn't like that or see the benefit of that. As with my other Rachel Ray pieces this 5 qt. cooker cleans up exceptionally well. The riveted handle and helper handle are very sturdy and make this large piece easy to handle. The glass lid is also very nice and assists well when braising. This is a well made pan and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to cook a large amount of food, or wants to use their stove to it's full capability. Without this piece there is just no way I'd be able to use both my large burners with 12 to 14 inch skillets or dutch ovens at the same time. Thank you Rachel for this unique design.

Great pan
I had a similar pan that I used for about 10 years. However over the past year, it's started falling apart and I wanted a replacement. This is a great pan. It's non-stick and cleans easily. The size is really what I like. It's easy to make meals in this. Definitely recommend.

HUGE Pot/Pan
I purchased this because long ago I had seen a Rachel Ray fish pan and thought it was very jazzy. I found this one on Amazon and decided to splurge. It was not the same, but still jazzy... most likely due to a fault in my memory to be fair. I decided to give it a try anyways, even though it was HUGE! I am not entirely thrilled with my decision as I have a small house storage situation and it takes up a lot of real estate. Although it is quite adequately dishwasher safe, it takes up the entire lower basket on an angle to barely fit. It could never be put in an oven due to the type of plastic on the handles, so don't even think about it. (Not an issue to me, but I know some cooks may try). The oval shape is pleasing, and fits 2 small to medium catfish to fry side by side, but the bow and stern of the pan do not fit on the largest of my glass top burners. Cooking wise it was decent, but took MUCH more fry butter than my Calphalon Analon pans. A positive is that there was hardly any splatter to Clean afterwards which was one of the reasons I kept it. So success on that. The lid does not have a blowhole. Bottom line... I think it's quite a nice pan if you can accommodate the size and have use for it. I still like it, but I wish it were just a tad smaller, so if I can find on just a bit smaller or Calphalon fulfills my dreams and makes a version, then I will trade up. It's not a 'dis'... just be sure you know what you are getting. Still jazzy.

NO WASTED HEAT1
This is the only pan I can use on my stove with an oval burner. Because it is so large I store it on top of the fridge so it is always handy. Great for soup and big pots of spaghetti.

Cooking bigger meals when needed with plenty of space to use. Love the glass lid able to view without losing heat lilting on and off.

La forma ovalada es genial. Cocine cuando lo estrene un pescado entero, normalmente en sartén redondo sale la cola y en este cupo muy bien. Me encantó! Y llegó rápido.
