Experiencing the Heart of Jesus for 52 Weeks Revised and Updated: A Year-Long Bible Study (Life Lessons Bible Study)

This is a great Bible Study book. I teach a Bible Study group in my home, and we are currently studying this book together. Max Lucado writes in such a way that it is easy to understand. He has a great sense of humor, too, so that adds to the lesson. There's a memory verse for each section, not each lesson, and 7 questions to answer each time we meet. By the time we go through the Bible verses, the questions, and the discussion on each lesson, it takes our class about 2 hours. We are all growing in our faith and knowledge using this book. This book will take us through the whole year; the class doesn't have to keep buying another book every couple of months, so it saves us money too.

I lead a group of ladies through this study. Well written, thought provoking and biblically sound. Mr Lucado did not disappoint!

I was determined to start a bible study this year and make a real effort at getting back to studying the Word in a meaningful way. Max Lucado is such an outstanding teacher, so relatable and this study is loaded with thoughtful content pointing you to Jesus and drawing you closer to Him which is exactly what I wanted. I feel this study helps me to discipline myself to studying the Word without making me feel like I’m performing a chore. I feel like I am discovering new ways of looking at the scripture that I have read for years in a way that is meaningful and valuable. I would highly recommend this Bible study, it is not dry and parsimonious and hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I am.

This is an amazing Bible study! Max Lucado is humorous and delightful. Each lesson is a blessing as he makes scripture so understandable. I would definitely recommend this for group study.

Our bible study group started using this when our first meeting was in September 2025. We are now on lesson 18 and are loving the lessons! Each lesson starts out with an article from the author, a memory verse, a little article about how the lesson relates to the heart of Jesus, then the study questions. The questions are thought provoking, and some are tough to answer as they make you search your heart and soul! I would recommend to any individual or group who would like to experience the heart of Jesus.

A great Bible study book discussion book. Really fosters discussion and is so positive. We read and discuss a chapter a week and after meeting we all feel grateful and uplifted! Always a nice evening!

Already read the first chapter. Did the study questions and can’t wait to do next weeks lesson. Good Bible reference.

I’ve not gotten in to this book much but what I have read so far has been really helpful and it’s a nice way to study the word.

Really good book, great questions and reflections I love the way Max Lucado is so real and to the point.

Have done other studies in the past that took a lot of time each day. This study is set up in a way that you can put as much time as you want in per day and still get something out if every day.
