Cool DJ Controller!
This is a great little controller! They say it’s for begginers but I started out DJing in the late 90’s with 2 Technic 1200’s and carrying crates of vinyl. I sold all my old dj gear and stopped going to clubs and got more into music production but now got the itch again just to just mess around and do some mixes. I wont use it too much so didnt need something too expensive and fancy but this thing actualy has a lot of features! I use this with Djay pro which intergarates Spotify. Some claim it isnt compatible but it is, its just not mapped out by default yet so you have to do it yourself and it works great. I’m sure Algoriddim will officially have it fine tuned soon but again it does work. I have this connected with a 2016 version Macbook Pro and Rokit 6 studio monitors with no sound or humming issues if you’re curious. 5 Stars!! Highly recommend!

Great value & functionality
This is a great little board. The only weakness IMO is that the only output is RCA. I just grabbed myself an RCA-XLR dongle. It’s worked great for the DJ gigs I’ve done with it. This would be great for a beginner because it’s not expensive & has most of the same functionality that the expensive Pioneer boards have. It’s a little lightweight. But, I expected it to be on the lower end of what Pioneer makes. That’s not a knock at all. Pioneer’s DJ boards are the only ones I’ll use.

Great, affordable, full featured DJ controller.
This is a great affordable DJ controller. Very solid build quality. Buttons are very responsive, jog wheels feel just as sensitive as the higher end Pioneer controllers. Pad scratch feature is cool, not overpowered lol. Cross fader moves smoothly for clean cuts and scratches. Mixer section has all the features for professionally sounding performances. Pitch sliders are a bit short ranged, these could have been longer like the similarly priced Numark Mixtrack Pro 3. Comes with Serato DJ Lite which offers a few improvements from Serato DJ Intro such as monitoring line meters for volume management. The unit has a good weight and offers grip ridges for handling. I'm very satisfied with this product and strongly recommend it.

User friendly, budget friendly quality DJ controller
It feels like a toy, but its a quality controller for this price. This is perfect for beginners to use, really easy to use, but also for anyone too. It has 4 decks ,but you’ll have to switch it by pressing the button. This controller has a good budget, it feels a little heavy, but has a plastic feel to it. The pads are responsive. The jog wheels might feel “tight” at first, but after you’ve spun them for quite sometime, it gets bit looser. The volume faders has a nice feel. Cue/play buttons are very responsive. The knobs are good. There are lots of features you can do with them with the software. Its easy to carry around for travel.

Works great with Virtual DJ
Great controller. Easy to use. Works great. Wish it had more metal for the outer shell. I use this with Virtual DJ and it works as though it was made for Virtual DJ. 10 December 2020. Update. I’m still a fan of the SB3. But now I feel like before I step into the live DJ world I should upgrade to the 800. The 800 comes equipped with booth out put and more importantly XLR outputs. The SB3 only has RCA(unbalanced) outputs.

Don't fall victim to negative reviews
Look, I'll be honest, I didn't expect much after reading the negative reviews on here. I'm just a dude that wanted to learn something new and hopefully make a little extra money on the side. I saw things like the lights don't come on when they plug it into the computer; mine did. I read that it felt like a cheap plastic toy; that's false. The jog wheels were very responsive. They didn't feel like a fidget spinner but it didn't feel like a bearing that had dirt in it. Smooth but with enough resistance that it felt like I was doing something. ALL of the lights worked, and so did the buttons. I use it with Virtual DJ and it took a minute to figure out that you had to turn all of the knobs to their lowest settings before VDJ would recognize them. I use bluetooth headphones so getting my program to push sound to the correct device was a pain in the ass, but once I got it working, I was impressed. I scratched a little, i mixed a little, I fiddled with it. I am very happy with it and I'm glad I made the purchase. Although, if I had to give any real feedback, it's that I wish Pioneer would have included at least a soft case for it. I don't like the idea that I have to spend another $40 on Amazon for a travel case. I might just build a multi case from a Pelican case. All I'm saying is, of course buyer beware, that's with anything you buy online. But THIS controller? Worth every penny. If anything changes in the negative, I'll update.

Bit pricey but excellent durability! Does NOT include RCA cable
Keep in mind you cannot "acquire" Serato Pro in any other form for this to work, the buttons and knobs will only register if you fit it to the Lite version of Serato, unless you pay and create an account. Overall the weight is not too light and not too heavy, jog wheels responsive, and the program itself (Lite) is fair unless you want to change keys or record your own mixes. Highly recommended for beginners. Be aware it only includes the USB charger to connect to laptop, it does NOT have the RCA cable to connect to speakers. Must be purchased separately.

AWESOME!!
I've been a DJ for 25+ years, and been using Numark, Traktor & Gemini. my latest was Traktor S2 with Traktor Pro, but started to have issues with S2 controller not connecting to my laptop. so, I searched for something similar to what I have and came across the Pioneer DDJ-SB3. I tell ya what... I Love It!! Very easy to use and I am using it with VDJ8 program. Its just a tad bit longer in length (about an 1.5 inches), but so many more features when compared to my previous controller! I just wish that the soundcard in the controller had TRS/XLR outs instead of the RCA. but other than that... This controller is truly AWESOME!!

This is a killer device... Just fell in Love with this Product... You get more than everything you want as a Beginner DJ... You can also use it when you become Pro... Pros of the Controller:- FX Section is Awesome Pads has a lot of features Nice Big Jog Wheels and Pads The only -ve sides I found of this Controller:- I don't like the Looping Buttons or the Loop System... I wish if it had CDJ type Looping function but for that you've DDJ-400 I do not like the length of the Tempo fader it's a short, could have been longer (DDJ-400 has longer one) It dosen't come with a Pro Software out of the Box, unlike 400... But!!! These negative sides are Absolutely not a Deal Breaker... SB-3 is more of a Hip Hop focused Controller where you can Scratch manually or with Jazzy Jeff's Pad Scratch Button (This Function you'll exclusively get in SB-3 Only), of course you can use it too party hard and play some EDMs & DDJ-400 this Controller is more focused on Club Culture and Festivals... Of Course you can Scratch on this Controller too... Overall Both are Very Hard Machines with their own Uniqueness... ...

I did a lot of research before going for this deck. Go much cheaper and you're getting inferior quality construction and fewer functions and inferior design; go higher and you could be paying for things you're not going to use and you lose portability. I've been mixing/dj-ing for 20 years and had a good idea of what I needed and what I wanted. Not having to lug vinyl around was what finally made me look seriously at these things. The Numark controllers at the same kind of price are worth looking at, and there's a Roland with drum sequencer that I liked the sound of. In reality though sequencing on it sounds like it's a slow nightmare, and I have my Roland MC-505, so I don't think I would have ended up using it. I liked the idea of the Numark that displays the BPM on each channel, but seeing as this is already prominently displayed on any software you'll use it's really just a gimmick. I originally bought a Numark, but changed to, and stayed with, this Pioneer because I preferred the build quality, design and functionality. They are in the minority, but I saw a few reviews that flagged up potential problems which made me hesitate on getting this. Some of these things proved to be just wrong, some were things I haven't personally experienced, and some are just opinion (and misleading). So, some things you may have read in some user "reviews". "The SB3 doesn't have a headphone volume control, but the SB2 does". Of course the SB3 has this. The knob for it is LITERALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DECK. It goes up very loud and you could make yourself deaf with it. There's a few people saying they got "electrical noise" because of casing and grounding issues. Maybe this was production issue that's been resolved. I don't have this issue. I saw a review saying the cross-fader didn't have much resistance to it, and therefore it felt "cheap". I wonder how much actual mixing this person has actually done outside of their bedroom. The cross-fade needs to be light and on many mixers IS lighter than, say, the separate channel volume sliders. When mixing any dance music your fingers should be constantly jumping from the fader to gain/trim, and edging up the channel volume and tweaking the EQ. You blend tunes with all these things and then you need, or certainly I do, a light fader you can quickly slap to the side to finish a transition. I don't scratch, but I still want my cross-fader to be exactly like this. The fader is light to move, but it's solid. It reacts how it's designed to react. I like that it's very responsive, but I can also smack it around. My old, very metal, very large and very heavy Numark mixer is tighter on the cross-fade but it's still light. I don't want to have to fight my cross-fader when I'm mixing. Another review said it "feels like a toy" because it's light. Ugh. It IS light. But it's really really well made, very robust. You could throw it at a wall or drop it from a height and it feels like it would still be fine. It feels bomb-proof. The design and feel of everything is high-quality. It's very nice to use. The jog wheels impressed me with how sensitive and reactive they are - they feel "right". The headphone out being 3.5mm is a little weird, but adaptors cost pennies. It's a non-issue for me. It could maybe be a little bigger (using it doesn't feel cramped, though), but I also like the portability. And larger devices often need dedicated power supplies. I've been in situations where being able to power this just from the laptop is ideal (change-overs/setting up is quick and painless). At home it can be stashed away easily, but you can just grab this and plug in one cable and be mixing within seconds. I can't give any opinions on the Serato software - I just wanted decent hardware and something that would work well with Mixxx, and this does both. Check Mixxx out if you haven't. It's free, fully featured, and intuitive. Put it in vinyl mode and set headphone output to channels 3-4 to get the monitor function working. Serato Pro seems expensive when Mixxx does everything, and well, for no money. It's Pioneer. Pioneer don't make junk. This is a very nice piece of kit. However, on the edge facing you is printed "Pioneer" on the right, which i like, and on the left "Serato", which I wasn't aware of and I don't like. I'll be sticking electrical tape over it. Some software tie-in product branding for something I don't even use DOES look cheap. It's a minor thing though. It took some research, and messing around with other controllers, to find what I wanted. I'm actually surprised this is as good as it is. Managed to buy this at £250, but even at £300+ it's still far better than a £300 Numark I tried and it's still a good deal at this higher price. Highly recommended. EDIT Just found out that the bundled Lite version of Serato doesn't even let you record your mixes. A lot of people won't know this, and they won't know there's other software solutions - so they'll end up paying even more cash on the "upgrade" just to get basic functionality. Get Mixxx instead.
