I bought this item to check the pH of my plant's nutrient solution. To be honest it isn't designed to be used in hydroponics or gardening. The colour differences between the pH range isn't vivid enough so you might have a hard time using it initially especially if your run off isnt so clear. I had to use the left over if my previous product to compare the colour in this product. It takes a little getting used to but it gets the job done.
