Heavy duty
I bought these casters for my 200+ pound woodworking work bench. I tried my hand at making my own diy flip down casters and they worked ok but they always seemed flimsy. I finally got fed up and decided to buy these. Wow these casters are heavy duty. The wheels are nice and heavy duty. All of the steel is around 1/8” thick which makes them feel heavy and like they will last. Took about ten minutes to bolt on and they work awesome. Easy to lift the bench don’t feel flexing at all of mechanism when raising or lowering. The flip mechanism stays locked when it is up and all four swivels work awesome to allow me to easily move my heavy workbench around my small shop allowing me to make room for projects. I highly recommend these will last a long time and are not some cheap piece they are very well built. I will keep these in mind for future projects.

Simply perfect...
This set of Powertec 1700 Workbench Casters is a must for any work bench/table in the shop. For $60 (sometimes as high as $79) on Amazon and free shipping it is a great deal at $60. Just received via Prime and installed the same day - about 30 minutes total for all four legs. Simply drill two pilot holes for each caster - one at 4 3/4 inches and one at 2 inches from the floor, screw in the mounts, add the casters and tighten the caster bolts. Done. Works perfectly. I am now able to move my old woodworking table made from a 2X4s and 4X4s which I beefed up and converted to a machining/sharpening/grinding/pounding on table easily around the shop. I added a sheet of 1 inch plywood left over from some barn flooring and added a scrap piece of 1/2 inch sheet of plywood as the top. Then added additional table braces and a lower shelf made from 2X6s. Added a Rockler vise and machinist vise on opposite corners along with an old saw horse vise at one end. It also holds a removable grinder and sharpening wheel that I store on the shelf underneath. This beefed up table is very heavy by design and I needed the flexibility to move it around shop - sometimes it needs to be out of the way of the wood shop area and I also needed the ability to move it outside. The Powertec casters work perfectly for this. I mounted them on the inside length of the bench - mounting the shelf 10 inches high to allow for the caster levers - and this way the casters are not in my way when I have the work table on all fours. A simple detail to consider, but important if you don't want to trip over the casters/levers. Highly recommend these casters for any work table or work bench where you need the flexibility to move it. I plan to build a new wood working work table/assembly table and will get another set of Powertec casters for this as well.

Excellent product, glad I purchsed them.
This product works extremely well. I purchased these casters so I could easily move a 30 year old Craftsman radial arm saw around my garage. Craftsman no longer makes the casters designed for this saw. The Powertec casters are very well constructed with heavy gauge steel power coated steel, ball bearing swivels, and good quality hard composite caster wheels. They were easy to install onto the metal frame legs that support the saw, and I was easily able to enlarge the mounting holes with a slightly larger drill bit so I could use a heavier bolt for the installation. I did have to deal with the angle of the legs on the saw, as they are not vertical, and the casters won't work properly if not mounted to a surface that isn't perpendicular to the floor. This was easily overcome with a few fender washers on the upper bolt between the caster plate and the leg of the saw. These are easy to operate for the lift, and for the decent as well. The casters roll smoothly on the floor, making the radial arm saw easy to move around, set down, and quickly (albeit manually) re-level. Well worth the money.

Excellent Product!
Absolutely perfect product for it's use. My bench weighs around 350lbs, and my workshop is a shared space with our two cars - so having everything on wheels is very important. These could not operate better than they do. The lever action to put the bench on the wheels works smoothly and consistently and the wheels are big enough and soft enough to deal with imperfections in a garage floor (Cracks, pebbles, etc). The install took a little longer than I thought as I had to make a small modification to my bench, and you also have to take the assembly apart to mount the bracket to the bench, and then re-install the levers and finally the wheels, but really it went smoothly and no major issues installing them. I have a full woodshop full of machines that are all on mobile bases and some definitely work better than others. This one is one of the best performers. As I said, my bench is very large and very heavy and these casters make moving it a breeze. HIGHLY recommend!

By far one of the coolest things in my shop
I freaking LOVE THE CASTERS!! As much as one can love casters - I love this 100x more! I ordered them before completing the framework of my workbench and after a very solid review / comparison from an amazon customer comparing it to the Rockwell version. I had some harbor freight casters laying in waiting but once these arrived and I checked out the quality I knew without hesitation they would kick butt, I returned the HF ones and a month later I installed these. Admittedly I raised and lowered my workbench about a dozen times. I sat and admired the coolness of these things more than I care to admit. While my skill level of woodworking is still very much beginner - these make me feel like a pro. I placed them on the interior of my posts because the set up of my WB will have nested carts stored under it, so far it’s been a breeze moving this around. The drop when i lowered my bench was dramatic the first time I used it so take that into consideration when installing these. I also added thin fabric to the bottom of the legs so the posts didn’t get damaged. This kit comes well packaged, has good solid weight and sturdiness to them, install was easier than all my other casters - even easier those cheapy ones that go into the plastic carts which obviously are easy but you get my point. Long story short, these casters rock, price is fantastic, and I wish I could put them on everything. Some of the other customer pics show the wheels slanted - mine don’t look like that, also mine don’t raise up more than an inch which is exactly how I wanted it to be. If you are debating on these STOP, get these casters now!! You will not be disappointed!

Just installed but work like a dream
Lift perfectly and rolls easily. Love these. Worth the extra money from the cheaper ones. Install very easy but be sure the lifts can go all the way up as you install. I had mine under the cabinet shelf and the lift was blocked. It made installation a bit more difficult until I figured this out. Remove obstacles above the lift function so it goes all the way up when installing and functioning and it installs and works like a dream. Can lift a huge heavy bed with little to no pressure and drops back down easily and smoothly. Everything I hoped and expected. Now I just hope they have longevity. Seems heavy duty so hoping so.

I exceeded weight loads a bit, WORKS GREAT!
I have a fairly large work table weighing 475 lbs. I know this is over the 400 lbs rating but thought I'd try them. The installation was easy after spending a bit of time figuring out the desired mounting height. The raising action is easy and very solid as the wheels fairly snap into place. Best of all is the SMOOOOOTH rolling made possible by the swivel and wheel ball bearings. I confess I have not actually seen if the wheels use ball bearings, I can only assume they do as you can almost move the table with a feather. I dang nearly giggled as I moved the 475lb table about the shop! It is helpful to carefully tighten the foot level bolt to gently squeeze the lever. This will hold the lever in the upright position while still allowing easy foot action.

Disappointed
Based on the other reviews, I thought these would be awesome... but I have been very disappointed. I have about ~150lbs total in my bench and tools. What I've found is that if there is any imperfection or spot that is not perfectly flat on the floor, the weight will transfer off one of the casters and it folds in backwards, under the lever. The wheel then wedges against the bench, stops rolling, and i have to manually lift that corner up, to get the caster back in position to allow it to roll again. This also happens if I attempt to cross over a joint in the slab. I've also had this happen if there's a small rock, crack or other obstruction on the concrete that the wheel can't roll over. Because the casters are so small, it doesn't take much. If I used the bench more frequently, I would be sending these back. They are a nice idea, and work relatively well otherwise. Since I have a drain in my garage, and there is a slight slope of the concrete near the drain, it doesn't work for me and I constantly have the casters fold under in against the bench. It's really frustrating.
