Folk Art Metallic Acrylic Paint in Assorted Colors (2 oz), 6102, 2 Ounce Sterling Silver

Oh what can I say I have many gold painted or gold leaf picture frames a few where chipped due to house move and so I made the repair with two pack white wood filler and over painted with this gold paint - absolutely 100% perfect finish and extremely hard to see where the repairs on the wooden frame - This gold paint is 10/10 for density of colour and easy of application and just a small amount of washing up soap and warm water and the brush I used was clean a new - the paint dried fast and has a sublime lustre and finish and seemed to match all of the different gold finishes of my picture collection - how do they achieve that ??

Metallic it maybe but is not working on metal. 6 coats and it does not look good. On card or wood it might be OK Maybe it's the brush - or the surface. Good colour. I'm disappointed with results.

I used this for my art project , great value , solid colour pay off , quick drying & easy to apply .

This craft paint may not be the cheapest on the market but the thickness is great so you don't need to apply so many coats. Love the coppery sheen too.

Brought to paint wooden christmas decoration. Came out more dull grey, then silver. Have completed 2 coats, but may need a third to improve colour, which will mean too much paint used per item.

Bought to use on plastic model kits. Too thick for air brushing without thinning but brilliant for use with brushing. Gives consistent coverage and easy to use. Excellent value for money and I would recommend for model painting.

I needed some metallic gold paint for my crafting. It needed to be acrylic so I could adjust the thickness with water and it needed to be nice and shiny. I came across this and it’s really good paint. It’s not too thick and it’s not globby like some craft paints are. You do get a nice shiny finish so perfect for dot painting. I also used it on Xmas decorations and I’ve used it to paint lettering. It flows superbly and holds to the brush really well. With it being water based you just wash your brushes in soapy water. Metallic paints take a little longer to dry and this is no exception. You could second coat it within half an hour but if you are dot painting I’d leave it overnight before rubbing out your chalk stencil marks. I would always put two coats on for metallic paint unless it was very small areas in which case you only need one. This was good value for money and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again. I’ve tried a few gold acrylic paints and this is the best one so far.

Give the bottle a shake before using it- nice lay down lovely gold colour.
