Good gift for rock hounds
This was a gift for my rock hounding mom. She has a bunch of sapphires from a mine and we wanted to be able to quickly very them due to the sheer amount of material we have to go through. Since sapphires scratch glass I was glad the kit includes a small glass tile as well as black and white ceramic tiles. All the pieces in the kit are quite small (except the nail, which is comically oversized for some reason) which makes it easy to pack along on short outings to rock hound. It was a good gift, something my mom was unaware existed and can get use out of. It came with several pieces, copper plate, magnet, ceramic tiles (2), glass tile, magnifying glass, dropper bottle, and a giant nail. Good price point for what you get.

Perfect for testing minerals and rocks!
We grabbed a few of these to use when testing rocks and minerals with our homeschool co-op and they worked great. Easy to use and a great value! Lots of fun for our kids to use to learn!

This mineral testing kit rocked our Earth Rocks adventure with the Webelos den! It was spot-on for what we needed, making rock identification/MOHS testing a breeze. Awesome value for the price. Totally recommend it!

Good set for the value
Great value for the money. This is geared more towards those just learning about the Moh’s scale. Which is perfect for who it was bought for. I think this would be a go to for a classroom type setting

Handy kit for beginners
I used this kit on a rock I have and was able to figure out pretty closely what it is. It’s a nice little kit for beginner geologists.
