WaterPrepared Stackable Plastic Drinking Water Storage Tank with Spigots, 55 Gallon, Blue - Portable Emergency Hydration Container for Survival or Disaster Preparedness

We purchased two of these because we are on a water well and experience frequent power outages. We were able to stack these conveniently between our furnace and the water heater in front of the garage bay for our car, following directions to leave 4 inches of air space in the bottom stacked container. Lowes sells a hot water heater platform that perfectly matched the diameter of the containers and elevates them for easier spigot usage. The platform is manufactured to bear the combined weight of the two filled containers. The containers were shipped fast and arrived in perfect condition. These are pre-tested for leaks prior to shipment; and both proved to be 100% leak-free when we began filling them and after we finished filling them. We used a bright LED work light held next to the container to allow us to easily monitor the water level...one of us holding the RV/marine water hose that we also purchased on Amazon to use with these containers and the other standing at the close-by outdoor water faucet on our house to turn the water off before the 4-inch Sharpie mark we drew on the bottom container was reached. The directions included for the storage containers and for the water treatment chemicals are easy to understand and follow. There are two separate glass bottles containing the long-term water storage treatment chemicals. Remember to wear protective gloves while combining them in a larger glass jar or drinking glass, and then allow 5 full minutes before adding the treatment to the container while the water is still filling. (We emptied and refilled the upper container because I forgot to wait 5 minutes for the full chemical reaction and realized it immediately.) Once we had completed this, we turned one of the spigots on and water came out as it should. Then we turned it back off. No water leaks. 100% turned off. We are so happy with the design and materials used for these units. So much nicer than the many, many 5-gallon water jugs we previously relied upon in emergencies...they had required a lot of floor space and were not the heavy opaqueness these new 55-gallon ones have for preventing harmful impurities from growing. I love these so much that I would like to get two more. Realistically though I have what we need for our household in the event of any usual storm outage. We enthusiastically recommend this USA manufacturer and their water storage containers!

It appears to be well built/made, faucet is a good quality, receive in mint condition. ONE NOTE TO USERS. If you plan to buy more then one and stack them which they are designed for, DO not fill lower containers to absolute full as your suppose to if storing water for long term. What happens is the weight of upper container load on lower unit pushes down slightly and that will force water out of lower container. Not a problem if you load them up and discover leak, open lower unit faucet and drain some water.

Purchased two of the 55 gallon water storage containers for our community of 200 homes on well water. We purchased these for emergency water use in the event of a catastrophic natural disaster where electricity is out and well pumps are inoperable. The tanks are easy to fill, stack and the fixtures are secure & easy to connect to a hose to extract water. We’re recommending every homeowner in our community should purchase one for home use. The material it’s made from is FDA approved and safe for potable water.

I have two of these. Rock solid construction. Mix a little bleach in with the water....Open it back up several months later and it tastes just like the day you filled it.

This is a nice sized container and is better than using a 55 gal drum. I have two complaints. One is it is a strong plastic smell inside and I suspect my water is coming out taking like plastic. I'm not too surprised about this but it could be better. Second is the spigot to get water out is very close to the ground. You can put the container up a few inches on a platform, but if you set it on the ground the spigot is really close to the ground which makes it a pain to get a hose screwed on.

Great product and very functional. You should plan on buying 8 cinderblocks and a piece of plywood or OSB to go under the tank. Then its at the perfect height.

Totally awesome and we love it. Just thought of reviewing as I came over today 2 years later to buy another one.
