Men's Bodmin Weathertite Hiking Boots

I've tried a lot of boots, at all price levels, and I begrudge spending over a hundred for every day boots, hence trying these.......... Yes they are built to a price, but I've been wearing them for casual walking around for 3 months and I can only say for the money these are brilliant, the fit is nice and wide, they are super comfortable, the bed is a bit thin but it doesn't affect the comfort for me. They're not showing signs of wear, I've got them soaking and they didn't leak. For low level path walking these are ideal. If they fell apart tomorrow I'd buy another pair which says it all.

Very good. Nice and comfy. Please note that you will have your waterproof them periodically which is to be expected. I do mine about 3 times a year.

Quite stylish very comfortable shoes. They feel wider comparing to the other shoes of the same size but apart from that very pleased!

I bought these around 3 months ago. Very impressed. Size is spot on (have used with both thick and regular socks), no breaking in required and no blisters created. Found them very comfortable. Have used in heavy rain and pretty thick mud (albeit not every day) and they've performed well. Grippy in all conditions.

To give a little gravitas to this review, I should get things out of the way early by saying that I do a fair bit of walking. Twice daily I need to walk back and forth to work, which is in total about 3 miles. This may not sound like much, but on a daily basis it really begins to show if you're not wearing footwear that's up to the task. In a push to save money, I went through a couple of pairs of bargain-basement-priced 'walking boots' which seemed ok initially but it quickly became apparent that cheap shoes either leak or the soles on them wear down so quickly that they only last 2-3 months in the end, so buying them was in fact a completely false economy. After my last pair wore out I decided that it was time to get a decent pair of proper walking boots from a good manufacturer so, ever the bargain hunter, I set out on a quest to find a decent pair at a fair price. And, of course, it was after a quick search on Amazon that I found these beauties. The deciding factor was the fact that they'd been reviewed positively by 700+ people, holding a 4.5-star rating overall. This looked pretty good to me, oh and they were half price - so the deal was done and they arrived in the post the very next day. I've been wearing them for about a week now and am actually very impressed. They're incredibly comfortable and feel really well made. I've yet to test out how waterproof they are, but considering that Karrimor are a proper outdoor clothing manufacturer I've got no reason to doubt the claim. The soles of these boots are made out of a fairly firm rubber compound with nice big, knobbly treads so they feel like they're going to last - and they do grip really well in the dry. I have however had one unexpected slip in them in the wet, but I can forgive them as no matter what shoes I'm wearing, it can be a little bit nerve-jangling walking down Edinburgh's Mound, a fairly steep curved hill of paving on which I've seen many a denizen of Edinburgh take a tumble on. If I was to make one very small complaint it's that the provided laces are a little on the slippery side and have come undone a few times, but this isn't a deal-breaker. Overall, I'm very happy with these boots and as with all things it'll be interesting to see how well they're going to last. Fingers crossed I won't be buying another pair in three months! UPDATE on 01/11/2016... So I've been wearing these boots for over six months now and am glad to say that they're holding up really well to my daily walking. The soles still have plenty of tread on them and the uppers are more or less unmarked and are holding together really well. The insoles that some with the boots were, however, completely rubbish and started slipping and moving around after a few weeks of use, so I replaced them with better ones which are mercifully staying in place. Now, if you read that optimistic statement about the waterproofing of the boots and got excited, I'm about to burst your bubble... In short - they're not waterproof in any way, shape or form. I found my feet getting soggy after walking on long, wet grass with these on - so they most certainly won't hold up if you're looking to dance through puddles with them! However, I'm still pleased with these boots as they're as tough as I hoped they were going to be and well worth a look. Update on 08/02/2017... The honeymoon period is well and truly over. I am sad to say that yesterday I noticed a big crack in the hard cap on the right boot's toe and, on closer inspection, discovered a hole big enough to poke a finger through right behind the toe cap. The admiration I had for these boots appearing to be tough just vanished in a puff of smoke. They just lost two stars. Don't get me wrong, these are good, comfortable boots - but are not tough enough to stand up to a three mile hike every day.

Very happy with these boots. Bought them as my old ones from another brand were falling apart and had an upcoming holding which would have a lot of walking in. At all times these boots remained comfortable and dry. We even ended up in some shallow water and they held up fine, as the picture shows. Stayed completely dry inside. I have since been wearing these boots for work and days out and they have remained comfortable and together so far. Very happy with these considering the price and would reccomend.

Als heftiger Radfahrer, Halter eines größeren Power-Hütehundes, forcierter Spaziergänger bei jedem Sauwetter gibt es eben kein Wetter, sondern nur miese Schuhe. Diese hier sind Top. Trekking - na gut, wer es nicht abkann und nur Slipper mag... falsche Zielgruppe. Die hier sehen m.E. echt cool und sehr wertig aus - und sind es auch. Die Sohne ist toll, hat Grip, die Schnürung geht schnell und der Schuh sitzt gut und ist gleichzeitig total bequem. Ich bin begeistert, denn sowas kosten nen Hunni aufwärts - und ich habe offenbar grade ein günstig-Fenster erwischt und nur rund ein Viertel davon bezahlt. Da sag' ich doch auch mal dankeschön! Klare Empfehlung! Kleiner Tipp: Ne gute Einlegsohle - ganz besonders die von Food Active, sind aber preislich nicht so ohne, aber tatsächlich super - macht die Sache perfekt.

Having been walking, trekking and mountaineering all over the world, I have used lots of different footwear. These are my 3rd pair of Karrimor Bodmin low walking shoes. I have found these to be very light but also hard wearing and comfortable. They usually last me about 18 months before the heel wears through. During that time though they are used almost daily from local walks on tarmac paths for about an hour right up to full mountain climbs over a whole day. I would say that they are not waterproof but weather resistant. If you must have full waterproofing then you need to pay more than these cost. I would not like to wear them in England in a wet winter for example but in Austria where I now live and the climate is much drier, then they are ideal. I have even worn them in shallow snow. The only small problem I have encountered is that to start with, the removable insole remains firmly stuck in the shoe and is comfortable. However with wear, the insole becomes unstuck. Eventually I have had to remove it and then wear two pairs of socks. I always order one size up from my normal shoe size. Overall I think these are great value for the price.

Stiff, they need breaking in and the shoes were dusty but nothing i could not handle. Just threw on a hazmat suit and ppp to unbox them. A wee bit on the large side for a 10 so thick socks will be required. Not sure if theses artificial rubber soles will be up to all the walking. First Impressions 4 Stars.
