Exactly what I needed. Added 5 3.5" bays space in exchange for the pretty much useless 5.25" drive bays. Paired with a case with a large amount of 5.25 bays, this turns a computer into a server. Keeps the drives cool too, much cooler than the cases built in internal bays. Well worth the fairly low cost. I would suggest adding a mesh filter to keep the dust out.

Works fairly well. The plastic sliders are flimsy and easily breakable, but the rest of the materials seems to be well made.

The quality on this drive cage is excellent! I purchased this for my home NAS and it fit all 4 hard drives without any issues. The fan, as others have mentioned, does not have a SATA or molex connector, but you can connect it to any external power supply with adapters. The cage is sturdy and is perfect for my use. The drives do not rattle the cage and is virtually noise free. Highly recommended.

I got this cage to install in my case that only had 2 hard drive slots. I was looking to make a TrueNAS machine and securely add more hard drive slots. I put the fan on this cage and inserted the drives I needed, and it worked perfectly. I ended up not putting this cage in the machine because I figured out another configuration, but I kept this cage because I'm sure I'll find another use for it soon.

First off, the description is weird; it suggests that this fits five full-size SATA drives. It does not. It will fit four with some air gap between them. Four drives work great. My first purchase, the fans died right around the 1-year mark. They were also pretty noisy. I replaced the fans with some nice Noctua, and the difference was huge. The last time I purchased, the item was shipped in a plastic bag with no protection. It was crushed and broken on arrival. When I returned it, the replacement never arrived. Do not buy from this seller. I have purchased two of these before, and they worked out, but this one was no bueno. It only takes one bad experience to earn a 1-star.

I was very disappointed and I can see why this item was frequently returned. I can agree on one thing, it did not go well through shipment handling due to packaging issues on this item. Although, I kept mine because I tested it and it works okay. May not be the same for others. Here are some major complaints. - The packaging is just a simple plastic. Like 0% effort in protection. - The included fan is so loud. You could however replace the fan with a better one and it will be silent. - It looks scratched upon arrival but that's just a thin layer of plastic coating you can peel off. - NO INSTRUCTIONS I have regular sized HDDs and a SSD with a kit to fit into one of these bays, it's definitely a tight fit to put it in. Did I get the value for my money? Nah, I think you can find better alternatives that cares more about their product. Maybe I would've given higher stars if at least a minimum the product packaging was better and not some plastic.

The item works, can hold 4 3.5' HDs but the black plastic holders are not high quality. I'm afraid that they may break when I replace the HDs. It also doesn't come with a manual, you have to figure it out how to set it up all by yourself.

Good for TrueNAS DIY JBOD builds. HDDs keep secure and cool in a solid construction. Bought 2 with no issues. Will buy again.

Took a bit of modification of my case to fit this. Cases have tabs for 5.25's to slide in that need to be bent out or removed. Otherwise. it's adequate.
