SMILOOL Non Slip Stair Treads 8 inch Wide

The carpet runners arrived on time and were very easy to install. The quality and appearance are excellent, and they stay securely in place—even when my dog runs up and down the stairs. They lay smoothly and look great on the staircase. Overall, a fantastic product for the price.

They look perfect. The non-permanent adhesive, that they say will not damage the finish of the wood over time, seems to work quite well. Let's see what happens in a year or two. Installation could be very slow and frustrating if you follow their instructions for peeling the plastic backing to expose the adhesive. They recommend you do it very carefully, particularly around the edges. There is a better way! I attached too pictures. In one I show how you would lift the plastic just enough to get to one of the edges, curve the mat a little inward, and pull at about 45 degrees (red arrow) until you have detached the plastic up to the corner. In the second picture I show how for the long edge you would pull at 45 degrees (yellow arrow) towards the other corner. No small pieces left to remove one by one. The first one took me about 2 minutes, and I had tiny pieces of plastic wrap clinging to my hands. All the others took me about 20 seconds each.

Exactly what I wanted. Good quality tread. One caveat...the 'sticky' backing is not strong enough on it's own, to hold the treads in place safely I feel. I used a Finish Nailer to ensure they don't move. I assume double-sided carpet tape would work well if you don't have a Finish Nailer. Would have given it 5 stars if the sticky backing was better.

I am so happy with this purchase. We have wood stairs that have taken a beating especially in the winter. These treads cover enough so you can still see the beauty of the hardwood but they are protected from the dirt. So functional and beautiful a the same time. Installation was so easy! Just peel and stick. They lift easily if you place them on crooked and stick again. Worth every penny!

These stair treads are awesome! They are easy to apply and actually stay!! We've had contractors making a terrible mess, up and down the stairs, tracking in all sorts of crap on these and they protected the wood, cleaned up so nice and stayed in place even with all the activity! This is our second set of them.... same color (to help hide the fur from our yellow lab) and loved both sets. No issues at all.

**Honest review** This is our first house with indoor stairs (5) and our older dog was nervous and wouldn’t go down without help cuz her paws were slippery a little due to the texture of the stair. We just bought this house so thought this is the simplest and cheapest remedy at first because she has to go up and down until we can remedy a better solution later. When these arrived, we cleaned the stair like instructed, removed the plastic off the back of the carpet strip as the instruction directs and although we like the look, they grip and you don’t slide on the stair but as you go up and down the stairs, the strip “moves/walks” around and it won’t stay in the original spot. We constantly (like everyday and sometimes many times during the day) move them back to their original spot because my OCD is VERY BAD. So these are a cheap and quick remedy and they do look nice but don’t expect them to 100% stay where you want them to.

These have been a great addition to our home for our elderly dog. They have stayed in place without any adjustments and there have been no pulls in the material. They look brand new and we’ve had them on for several months. No more slipping for our dog as she goes down or up the stairs. No more worries of her falling. Great product would buy again if I needed to!

These look great and are very durable. They stay in place and do not move. I really bought them for safety reasons and had already decided it didn’t matter what they looked like, just that they stayed in place and could be cleaned. These look as close to jute as you can get. They are the extra wide and that’s a huge plus. They have a firm cushion which makes the stairs more comfortable for everyone. Was easy to install once I made my template. I’m so impressed with these!

I like the colour of them. They are sticking to the stairs very well.

The corners do come up slightly despite the grippy bottom and following the installation instructions. That being said Th sizing is perfect and they don’t move on the stairs when walked on.
