Best diamond plate used.
Would say this is better than DMT plates and much better than Faithful plates which have plastic bases. The DMTs seemed to scratch up on first sharpening. Not the case here. (The Faithful plates are decent for the price, and worth looking at to get started.) The Aroma quickly removed metal when establishing a primary bevel on a chisel. Used with a sharpening guide and lapping fluid. Swarf easy to remove with a paper towel, to dab up the fluid, then an eraser to clean the plate. Will still be using DMT plates but wish I'd bought all Atomas instead. Recommended.

Rough diamond
This I think is a great sharpening plate, I used to remove the initial covering on a chisels flat side and to get the plate primed for use - I really like it, expensive but worth it

Perfection
Performance of the stone is just amazing. Product quality is just perfect. Surface of the stone is spotless. I can't believe how much time I've waisted trying to sharpen knives with more common cheap stones....

A must must-have if you sharpen razors
It’s taken me forever but my razor sharpening technique is improving. I haven’t been able to get a decent edge without using this to flatten the stones first.

Your paying for the best of the best
Top banana of sharpening stones. Pricey but worth it!! Never had chisels and planes so sharp. Well worth buying an Atoma flattening diamond blade to keep your waterstones perfectly flat. I use 1000, 5000 & 12000 grit Shapton Waterstones with this Atoma 400 grit diamond blade. Expensive method but you get perfect super sharp stubborn end grain cutting edges to your tools.

Fast cutting for flattening stones and good for grinding out chips
does a great job of flattening water stones and having the larger size really helps in with that too. This is my main use for it but it is also a fast cutting plate for grinding out chips in blades and other rougher tasks before moving up to something like a 1000 grit stone to start to refine the edge.

sharp as you would like..
stop being silly and just buy one....wide and flat and sharp....use this then a 1000 grit stone then a 8-15,0000 grit stone....sharp as you would like... my hand plane sharpened with this plate will cut a shaving less than 1,000th of an inch without any more honing ...if you are a general builder hanging doors and fitting skirting boards this plate is all you need ....

I'm not sure why this product is listed the way it is with "Science Purchase" in the description. If you consider diamonds science then sure but it is confusing to say the least. This product is in fact a real/authentic Atoma Diamond plate from Japan. Truing stones overtime will eventually lose their flatness but not with a diamond plate. My aluminum block came with a few light surface scuffs/scratches but that's okay. The diamond pad is adhered tightly to the block and will take some prying to remove it when it needs to be replaced in the future. Since this thing is near perfectly flat, this will will flatten/level out any whetstones in no time. It can even be used for knife repair, but I wouldn't recommend that as it'll prematurely wear out the diamonds if you do use it for metal on metal repairs. The 400grit level is perfect as its not as rough as the 140grit but still faster then then 600grit diamond plate. If you're looking for the ultimate way to keep your whetstones flat, then this diamond plate is the way to go. The pricing of $69 is also a steal compared to some other online retailers selling it for $100+ so this is an absolute bargain.

Excellent diamond stone. Flat, consistent diamond coating and it plain works as intended. They do cut quickly. Have not had my 400, 600 or 1200 very long to gauge long term. These have seen about 30 chef sized knives and done touch-up for smaller ones. A drop of dish soap works well for me with a basic water wetting base. The three letter that starts with d lasted me 28 years worth of on-off hand sharpening. (I have a jig for the Burr King though I like to be able to do it manually.)
