Persis Premium Raw Mixed Nuts - 500g

I've been looking for a nice selection of mixed nuts that does not contain peanuts and this was the only seller I could find on Amazon that fitted the bill. I've been very satisfied with the variety and quality of the mixed nuts so far - so much so that I've purchased this item twice more from this seller. The nuts are generally good quality & fresh (there is the odd hard one but really very few of them) and the variety is good. Taste is satisfactory and considering the variety & quantity, I think it is decent value-for-money.

I liked this selection of raw nuts - Almonds, Brazils, Walnuts, Macadamia, Hazelnuts, Cashew, Pistachio and Pecan. All the nuts in this strong, resealable 1Kg bag (with the exception of a few of the Hazelnuts) were whole, undamaged, no soft nuts, brown spot, no excessive injury, no bits of shell and I only saw a one or two nuts that had small bore holes which might have denoted insect damage. Almonds were a uniform 23/25 size, no doubles seen. The proportions were approximately 240g Almonds (25%); 188g Brazils (18%); 152g Cashews (15%); 133g Macadamias (13.5%); 128g Hazels (13%); 86g Walnuts (8.5%); 61g Pistachios 6%; 10g Pecans (1%). If my arithmetic is a bit out, you'll have to cut me a bit of slack - (kitchen scales) and I might have eaten one or two Almonds while I was separating the nuts, checking them out and weighing them for review purposes. The Hazels let this consignment down, some of them had deteriorated and were soft. A few had brown spot and excessive damage. Not all, but about a quarter of them had some form of injury. It wasn't a deal breaker, but if this had been a bag of straight Hazelnuts, I'd have rejected the lot. But I guess in any consignment of "mixed" nuts there will generally be a few that have to be ditched. Other than that, this is a decent mix of fresh, raw nuts - could have done with a few more Pecans, and perhaps fewer Almonds. I'm not veggie, or allergic to peanuts - but I don't need, or want, to eat animal tissue every day. I'm looking forward to a few veggie nut 'roasts' with these and it's nice to find a Peanut free mix at an honest price.
