As a chef I have professional grade knives that I use at work but I had no carving set. The knife was, as expected, of good quality and I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fork as well. Very pleased, as always, with my new zelite!

Nice set, very sharp blade

So far I haven't use it but once, but I'm impressed with its comfortable grip and ease with which it slices. I enjoy eating ham, and it carves it up with lil effort. As for the fork, it's a good size and heft for large cuts of meat. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Bought this as a last minute Xmas present. For $150, I expected the knife to be delivered sharp. Since I was giving it as a gift, I took it to a pro cutlery shop to get the small knicks out of the blade and touch up about an inch of rolled edge. Once the edge was restored, it was a nice slicer. Good handle ergos and the balance was not bad. Aesthetically quite nice. Then there's the fork. It was rough. Finish was not polished like the knife--it was more of a very fine grit sandpaper finish. And the tines had squared off edges like it had come right off an industrial press. Anyway, had my knife guy polish it up and round off the hard edges (which cost me $30!). Once he made it presentable, it was an OK fork. Quite heavy duty -- felt like I could pick up a 15-lb rib roast with the thing!

What is there to say that the other reviews don't already say. These knives are simply outstanding. My purchasing started with an initial Paring knife, and then over the years we've added more and more to our collection. Bought this whilst on Amazon DOTD and have only used it a couple of times on a roast chicken and a roast beef Sunday roast. Firstly, on the beef this set a new standard. Being able to carve lovely thin perfect slices without even trying (the blade is SO SHARP!), I have never ever carved beef so well.... including with a proper separate meat slicer. This knife is just superb. On a chicken I struggled ever so slightly, but that was mainly down to my poor technique, the blade is so sharp but I probably applied too much pressure and the chicken came away from the bone rather than slice ... I learned as I went and soon became much better! In short, these knives cost more than most (but far less than many others) but they're quite simply brilliant. My advice, start with a single knife from their range and compare it to what you're using - for £30-£40 you can discover whether they'd work for you. That's what I did, and 10+ knives later I'm so pleased I did. Superb!

This gorgeous carving set was bought as a gift for my Mother. Being from a butcher's family, she was massively impressed with these! The stunning, incredibly sharp carving knife is a joy to use and made short work of carving our goose. Both the knife and fork are beautifully balanced and the handles make using them a pleasure as they fit almost any hand nicely. If you want a showpiece carving set that look stunning and do their job perfectly, then look no further. Presented in a lovely fitted box and with a wonderful leather sheath for the knife, I have never seen a better carving set.

Knife is nicely weighted and works great. Just thought the sheath would last more than the first use considering the price.
