Funn Bashguard ZIPPA

A bash guard is a good idea if you want to do things like skinnies or other technical features, because having it encourages you to try more, knowing you're not going to mangle your chainring if/when you flub. Same with knee pads. It's "plastic courage" that helps you to improve your technical riding. I've been using another company's bash guards, but when I came across Funn's Zippa Lite, for significantly less money and with great reviews, I decided to give it a try. I found that it's just as well made, easy to install, and you get the bonus of a spare skid plate. I have broken one of these on a really rocky technical downhill, so I appreciate having a spare. I've since put these on the whole family's bikes. They're a lot cheaper than chainrings!

I purchased this one day after scraping my chainring on a curb after adding more rear sag. The first day out with it I slid it across a rock and it worked perfectly. This guard, although far less costly than other brands, works well. It comes with a spare plastic slider and it’s well designed and fabricated.

Easy to install and good fit. (I didn't have to take off the chainring to mount it). Appearance wise it doesn't stick out too much, but I've already had this save me on a few tree jumps and rock bashes.

I buy lots of expensive bike parts and ride a $5000 carbon bike. I bought this for the fast shipping but was pleasantly surprised when it got here. It contains two replaceable plastic guards and a sturdy aluminum bracket. Fits great and provides plenty of protection for a 32T ring.

Came with all the hardware necessary to install it, I supplied only the hex wrench. Easy to install on my Ibis Ripmo AF. Doesn't require removing anything. The Funn Zippa Bash guard is very solid and seems well equipped to do the job of protecting the chainring. It even came with a spare guard, in case you need to replace it. This product is a way better value than a lot of the others I looked at.

I destroyed a chainring on my MTB after hitting some rooted area at my local trail. Not a fun experience since I had to walked out the trail due to the severe damage to the chainring and the chain. I got this bash guard and I was very happy with it since the moment I held it my hands. The package is awesome (I’m not too incline on judge a product by the package though), finding extra screws and a specialty nut need if you are installing a chain guide was a plus. I only needed the bash guard. The installation is simple, two screws and there it goes. Sadly the quality of the screws is the reason for 4 stars. I used the proper tool to install them and still the head stripped after torque to specs was made. I will have to use a screw extractor if I want to replace these now ( I don’t have pics of the screws since they are behind the chainring). The pictures show how it looks installed on my bike, see lip about 1mm to 3mm of the bash guard protecting the chainring and chain. I had about two different times since I installed this that I actually hit a root or a rock. The bash guard took it all in and no damage was found after all. This is a great product that will do the work that was designed to do and in the process will save you hundreds of dollars (yes, the chainring and the chain are not cheap!)

Fits well and provides good protection for bike chainring

This guard went on without a hitch and gives me some peace of mind when riding rough terrain. I have been using it for a couple years now and it has taken some solid hits. I know it won't protect against everything but it will at least take some abuse instead of your frame.

Product came as advertised, was a little skeptic about the size as I have a 32t chainring and the one I ordered was 26-32t and I thought it wouldn't fit. Well, package arrived and I got it installed and fits like a glove. Product is very sturdy and will take abuse whilst protecting your chainring, comes with an extra bashguard as well.

Struttura portante in alluminio, componente battente (quella che malauguratamente andrebbe a sbattere) in plastica. Ottima fattura e facile da montare. Fornito già con diverse viti, provviste di blocca filetto, e diverse rondelle. Inoltre, è presente una componente battente in plastica di sostituzione. NOTA BENE: Per l'installazione base si usa la rondella da 1.5mm e le viti lunghe. La rondella da 2mm, lo spacer nero conico servono per altre configurazioni "non base". Per questo prezzo (intorno ai 40€) direi che è ottimo, considerando quanto costi soltanto una buona catena nuova.
