I think it's very important to stress that this is a revision guide, not a textbook. It summarises the course without giving detailed explanations. In particular, it offers an excellent basis for students to get the essential information that they need to get the highest possible marks in the GCSE exams. I'm a maths and science private tutor. What that means is that I get students who are struggling to make progress. I recommend this book to all my combined science (trilogy) students and show them how to make mind maps using it. IMHO it's much easier to make a mind map from this book than from a very wordy textbook ... and that really aids retention.

Book is well written and explains clearly

This book is invaluable for GCSE science. It includes everything that will be on the GCSE. It has really helped us in particular as my daughter has had so much time off school due to a health condition. This book allows us to structure her learning and fill in the gaps she has missed. She is working through it page by page. Anything that comes up she doesn’t know she can write it down to work on later. The amount of knowledge they need for GCSEs is extremely overwhelming and this book includes everything they need. It will be a great revision tool nearer the time but for now it is working as a tool to guide us through the curriculum.
