I had used another brand cloud drive before. I was skeptical but glad I purchased the Synology drive. A lot more features and is not hard to understand how to setup and use.

Great small home NAS option with lots of value. Built in software packages and solid support.

I have only had this unit for six months. Unit will no longer power on. Snynology says it’s beyond warranty period buy another and migrate the data. What a waste of money. $800 paper weight at least my data is saved on the drive wish I could access it without having to by another.

Synology’s Own Apps Don’t Work With DSM 7’s “modern” security selected. One of the reasons I went with Synology was their supposedly superior software. Surveillance station's functionality was severely hampered with the recent update to DSM 7.2.2 (removed h.265 codec support). DS Video has not been updated in two years and will not work if the NAS security is set to modern. DS video has other interface and CODEC issues, but it is pathetic that Synology hasn’t even updated the ciphers used in its software so that “modern” security cannot be used on Synology’s NAS. Now Synology is deleting applications and core functionality (h.265 codec support) for "performance." Never buying another Synology. Finally, while not an issue with this model, Synology continues to ship NAS devices with limited support because they do not meet DSM 7’s minimum hardware requirements (1 GB of RAM). Turning to Synology photos, despite 30,000+ images, the AI only recognized the subjects in less than 500 photos, and then much of the recognition was wrong. It did much better with faces, but leaves much room for improvement.

Packing is really excellent. Delivery was on time. Set up is easy and novice like me was able to do it quickly with out any issues. Still learning..will write another one after sometime.

Discos duros venían montados en Nas al intentar instalar sistema, marca error al formatear, los saco y traen cortes en etiquetas y rayaduras en discos duros del corte. Al conectarlos a la computadora los marca con error de hadware irreparable.

A very good solution for my needs as the online file storage/sharing options have simply become ridiculously expensive. I recommend it to any person who wants to have a private cloud solution. I personally use it to store all my images and important files with a very robust Disaster Recovery Solution.
