Perfect size for my DIY lechuza pon mix for my plants . It's exactly as pictured. Not too dusty, nice deep red, and a uniform size. I will be ordering the biggest sized bag now that I know how great it is!

Very happy with this red lava rock. This is the best source I have found yet. Many years ago I remember buying a 50lb bag of red lava rock, but for some reason it's not available anymore. This 10lb bag is the best I have found, as it is pure, clean, and all red lava rock unlike some other brands.

I purchased this volcanic soil mix because my normal brand of volcanic rock has been out of stock on Amazon for close to a month. I need something for some of my indoor plants that were re-potted and harmed by our dogs, so I need more volcanic rock for looks, nutrient composition, and to keep our dogs out of the plants (it scratches their noses and is one of the few deterrents I have found that has worked over the past 10 years). This rock looks pretty, is bigger than my other brand of volcanic rock, and is less dusty. The only thing I will say is that is much more expensive and only available in smaller bags, which is a problem for me. I may purchase it again, but I'm hoping they offer bigger bags at a better price per ounce soon.

Good size, hopefully I can find a place I can buy it in more bulk. Imagine about a medium bag of potting soil size and that’s about how much you get.

The small size of this lava rock make it a good choice (IMHO) for mixing with cactus/succulent soil to help form a gritty mix. I've also used it in some pinguicula setups so they can sit on the rocks just above the water. And I've used them as a decoration in terrariums as a top cover. This is a very versatile and useful product for the hobbies I happen to be involved in.
