One the best role-play games I have played in a while
One the best role-play games I have played in a while! It comes with so many different game-play choices that even after having it for a month (and playing it every Saturday with my partner) that we haven't become bored and we haven't seen every choice and quest yet. If you love the Fallout games you will love this board game. Be warned - it does take 1-2 hours to finish a game! :)

Did not disappoint
after a couple plays only I can say that the game is addictive as the jets you can purchase from the store. If you love Fallout, you will almost surely love this game. It is a coop, but you build your own path. Use other survivors to help your agenda, but beware all the dangers of the wild. Fallout the Boardgame is quite faithful to the Fallout videogame series. You feel you are in the wasteland after the nuclear war. Fast paced game, lots of randomness, but still quite fun. Providing more info, is going about game mechanics and such, those are easily found elsewhere.

Almost a very good game.
It is an interesting exploration based game with a couple of flaws: The negtive points first: 1. It needs the expansion to be playable in my opinion. 2. The rule book could really do with restructing, its not really very clear. 3. The wasteland enemies move to quick and are far to lethal early on... (which kills the mood a bit) and then a bit of push over when you are all tanked up. 4. Quite complex set up and quite long game play. 5. The competative game doesn't work, as the game is a little too random and unbalanced to be played in this way. 6. The randomness can leave a player behind (they don't progress as fast as everyone else.. thus feel a bit left out). The positives: 1. The game pieces are top notch. 2. The game scenarios never play through the same way twice. 3. The Story threads (although a little clunky to keep adding cards) are pretty cool. 4. The Co-op included in the expansion works really well (ended up house ruling the non-co-op scenerios.. vote for a faction at start of play, xp from cards is always group xp.) Overall, I'm quite happy with the game, but had to check on Gameboard Geeks to iron out the rules issues. Currently playing the game with the following rulings: 'Monster' damage = ( level-1) + pips rolled; but ideally the damage needs to be keyed to the players average 'special' level to keep the monsters competative as you approach the end game.

Great game very fallout authentic
Great game, not as easy to learn as something like Catan but within a playthrough or two the rules are very easy to follow. The numbered card mechanic can be a little unwieldy but well worth it to build the Fallout experience from the video games into a non-digital format

War. War... Changed?
As a lifelong Fallout fan who has played, and loved, every video game, and as a tabletop game fan: the idea of a tabletop version intruiged me greatly. Though we had to abandon the videogamer mentality of "complete and collect everything you can before questing" which caused our first game to run so long. My two brothers and I have played twice now. First time took 5h 30m, second time took 4h. Took some time to understand all the rules, we had them all figured out half way through the second game: I strongly suggest reading both booklets before playing, as the 'Learn to Play' booklet really glosses over a lot of details and will leave you scrambling for the rule booklet over and over for clarification during the game. The characters are a little unbalanced but ultimately make for fun, unique gameplay (we already have our favourites here). We've only played two of the four scenarios - The Commonwealth, and The Capital Wasteland - but they are about as different as you would expect, with the flavour text being the main difference. I highly suggest this game for any Fallout fans, and any tabletop fans. I also recommend finding a good playlist of music from Fallout 3, NV and 4, or just a 1950s/60s playlist and putting that on in the background for a little extra atmosphere. As for space needed, we used a table that is about 80x80cm (31.5x31.5in) and we could have used a little more space. I also suggest purchasing additional grip seal bags to hold the tokens for organisational purposes, and an opaque bag to place the SPECIAL tokens in for simplicity when levelling up.

Good game, some parts are unclear however and have no indicator of how to proceed.
Some missions will say something along the lines of "Find the Bounty Hunter" we've searched through both books and couldn't find what was meant by this so we just made our own spin on these for future cards. Besides this the base game seems to be really off without the co-op play provided by the expansion, it should have had the co-op option to begin with. The learning curve is steep too, it's one of the only games I've played so far where I've needed a full trial playthrough to get it. Besides these I do recommend the game, but only with the co-op expansion, which then makes it around a £50-80~ board game depending where you buy them.

Fun and awesome
Great game, after the first couple of hours that are necessary to learn how to play it, the game becomes easy to play and incredibly entertaining. You can play collaboratively as well as competitively. And you can play solo. True to the fun and witty narrations found in classic fallout videogames. Almost reminiscent of fallout 1 and 2. Love it!

What makes you S.P.E.C.I.A.L?
Loving this game, huge fan of fallout so I brought this for my games group. Quality of models:***** Quality of cards: ***** Quality of board:***** Seems complicated but once you play the first scenario it gets easier. Definitely going to get the California expansion later down the line. 10/10

Like fallout this game plays best when you are exploring it alone. If you want to play it with friends i highly suggest getting the Atomic Bonds expansion which unlocks co-op play. This game just doesn't work competitively. Other than this minor squibble this is truly a great Fallout experience.

I love the Fallout's universe. One thing I think is really cool about this game is that you can play alone OR with your friends. There is a lot of rules, but this is normal for a RPG game. If you don't have patience to read the manual, don't even try. But if you are used to the old RPG school than you will do just fine.
