Lovely story

Nostalgic! Yes, the cabbage patch looks lovely, but swap it for a baby? Really???

It took 2-3 years to be delivered but well worth the wait. Grandson loved it! I would definitely recommend if your a bookworm like me lol. 5 STARS 🤩

I’m looking forward to reading this book and I do remember this book and I haven’t read this version yet

Happy memories

Having bought this story as reproduction and others i had in my childhood as 2nd hand, I would now go for 2nd hand version every time despite being more expensive and not new. Can't quite put my finger on it but pictures somehow not as crisp in reproduction and I personally prefer board cover to dust-jacket as this is what my books had as a child. This is still good alternative just not quite the same as the real thing

This was a book I had as a child & now my children are enjoying these books-they are amazed at the wonderful artwork which is sadly lacking in a lot of fairy tales these days.

Of course these re-issued ladybird books are utterly fantastic. The illustrations are simply marvellous. Unfortunately my copy, although looking perfect, had half of the pages missing! I am reluctant to order through Amazon again in case all of their copies are the same. One very disappointed 4 year old!

序に「Drawing on elements from early French and Italian sources」とあるとおり、イタリア・ルネッサンスを思わせる絵画的・デザイン的要素を全面に盛り込んだ、愛らしいというよりは、美しい絵本となっています。（フランス的要素についてはよく知りませんが...） 例えば、ラプンツェルの住む塔は、表紙にみられる通り、イタリア・ルネッサンスの教会・礼拝堂のデザイン風です。 荒野の描き方も自然科学的ではなく、初期〜中期ルネッサンスの様式的な描き方でしょう。 服飾も、おそらくルネッサンス的だと思いますが、もっと端的に、ロミオとジュリエット風と言った方がより良いかもしれません。 最後のページは、ラファエロの「聖母子」的な構図で締めくられています。 もっとも、ルネッサンスと一口に言っても、ラファエロ風のエレガンスや、ミケランジェロ風の肉体のダイナミクスや、ベネチア絵画風の光と色のニュアンスではなく、例えばマンテーニャを想起させるタイプの絵です。 文章は、原作のグリムの短い話から、さらに簡約しており、英文も平易で、すぐ読めてしまいました。 アメリカやイギリスの外国のアマゾンでは、送料はかかりますが、新品が手に入るかもしれません。 ※ ちなみに、ラプンツェルという植物が何を指すのかは、よくわかっていないようですね...

its my favorite version and the pictures are absolutely stunning. She's going to love it : )
