Works great, strong construction
I thought my chair was done. The bottom metal mechanism actually fractured after 6 years of working from home. I loved that chair and reluctantly bought a replacement that was inferior. After the replacement came and I realized how much better my old chair was I ordered this to see if I could even fix it. Because why not try? The part came well packaged and was surprisingly easy to install. It is durable and strong construction. However the bottom mechanism was crazy hard to separate from the wheels I would recommend a mallet or a hammer with a pillow or multi-folded rag. But after this device itself was still easy to screw in, just 4 bolts. I have used it extensively, it works flawlessly and is a great value for the money as it brought new life to a great chair that I loved and wasn't ready to get rid of.

Sturdy, perfect fit, and easy to install
Last time I bought a heavy-duty tilt mechanism, it lasted a couple years like the original one (I'm 220lbs, near-daily office use). When this one arrived the beefyness was obvious; this uses MUCH thicker steel, thte welds are good, the points of reinforcement are obvious, and has a bit more resistance when I tilt back. It fit the hole pattern perfectly, and was a cinch to install (or maybe I'm getting used to doing this). I do miss that this one isn't as easy to tilt back lazily so I can slouch as I did before, but maybe I'll have better posture now. I'm confident I won't have to replace this one.

Way better quality than the original that came with my chair...
I purchased the 500lbs version of this tilt mechanism for my chair when the original broke when I wasn't paying attention and leaning too far back in it. SNAP! This one is way better quality than the original that came with my chair. It feels like it was built for a tank. My old one was flimsy piece of junk. This may be a bit overkill, but at least I know it is good quality and will last forever. I'm impressed with the hefty weight and construction of it. They didn't cheap out here on this product. Completely worth it. There's no way this thing is going break. Pay the extra, and get the 500 lb version. Chances are, you will never have to worry about replacing it again, unless there is a Richter scale level 10 earthquake or a dinosaur-sized 120 mile diameter meteor falls on your house. I felt like a weight lifter putting this on my chair, as it's pretty heavy. The weight is good thing, though. It's solid. I'm glad I bought this!

No lies, definitely stronger than stock
Bought this to repair a fairly high-end chair from over a decade ago. I had to modify the front holes a TINY bit because my chair is nonstandard, but close enough that it works flawlessly. Due to over a decade of use, the gas cylinder was utterly stuck, so I had to replace both. None the less, the metal on this assembly is considerably thicker than even the high-quality decade-old assembly, and I strongly suspect this chair will last another ten years, even if its original cushion won't. UPDATE: I've been ignoring a really annoying issue for over a year and only now realized, the entire time I had forgotten it was an aftermarket part, I was assuming the annoyance was related to the original chair itself. The locking bar which limits the seat tilt slips out and unlocks. Constantly. It had since probably a year after I bought it, maybe earlier. I really am removing an entire star for that -- it would have been SO EASY to implement ANY form of retension for that lever, and it would have made the product otherwise flawless.

Robust Replacement for Office Chair Tilt Mechanism
This heavy-duty tilt mechanism has significantly improved the stability and comfort of my office chair. The sturdy construction supports up to 500 lbs, and the 5.9" x 10.15" mounting hole pattern fit my chair perfectly. Installation was straightforward, and the tilt and height adjustments operate smoothly. It's a reliable replacement part that has extended the life of my chair.

Seemed Good at first, Broke after 4 months.
I Bought this as a part to fix a gaming chair that I had purchased as the weld had cracked, causing the chair to sit off center, leading to back pain. After installing this on the chair, all went well and easy. This was until the chair became of center. After inspection, it was found the welds had cracked again. For reference, I am only 235lbs and should be within the limit of this devices operating capacity. Might be good if you are under 150lbs, but I would not trust it.

Sturdy Replacement
My gaming chair broke. The original "tilt mechanism" developed a crack. The chair was fairly expensive and I was not ready to junk it. Look for a replacement part. The "Rainforest" site had a few options. This one seemed to be the best. Easy replacement. You may have to watch a video (I did) to get the cylinder off, but other than that a simple 20 minute fix job with a heavy duty part that may well outlast the original.

This is the first tilt mechanism I've ever had that's been able to put up with my abuse.

Much better quality than the other companies. This has really thick metal. Unfortunately have to return it as it doesn’t fit my chair because different holes but definitely recommend.

The received item is of less quality than the purchased one where it weighted 1.3kg however the original one based on the description should weight 3.5 kg and with much more thickness.

My relatively new swivel chair started to tilt quite badly to the right. I paid a few hundred pounds for it and the top is still like new so I was really disappointed. However seeing this replacement part I decided to try fixing it. As you can see the weld on the original part had broken half way round so I suspect this was causing the lean. The hardest part of switching the base attachments was getting the gas lift cylinder out of the old. i ended up using a pipe wrench and a hammer! All is fixed now and the chair feels sturdier than it ever has before. Hopefully this will last many years!
