Great Book! If you're looking for God's Will in your life - buy it!
I've been a Christian most of my life and have never really rebelled or anything like that. I've had quite a few times when I was really looking for God's will. Times when I was changing jobs, ministries, considering a major move, etc. I found earlier in my life (I'm in my 40's) that God never really gave me a bright flashing neon sign. In fact, in the last decade my wife and I really felt about a particular decision that God was saying "do what you want to do, because I know you'll be serving Me wherever you are". That was comforting on the one hand, but also not what I wanted. I wanted God to tell me what to do, LOL. This book really lays out a Biblical foundation for making decisions in life and considering what truly is the will of God.

Great read and presentation on the will of God
I really enjoyed this book and its approach. I definitely was convicted of certain ways I approached God's will and which led to me ultimately being passive trying to know with certainty "is this the right way?".. I highly recommend this for anyone who seeks to know God's will and especially for those of us who are scared to go forward or second-guess ourselves. I gave 4 stars solely because this book, in my opinion, seemed aimed more for twenty-something year olds. I'm in my mid-thirties and still took plenty away from it and genuinely enjoyed the book but numerous parts (getting married, get a job) were not applicable to my life stage. Everyone should read this though and will certainly benefit from it.

A helpful guide for young adults starting out
This review is written by Rona Hansen. This book was recommended to me by my son, as he felt encouraged by it. My husband who is also a pastor had recommended it to our daughters as well. My favorite chapter was about Kevin’s grandpa & his career path. Those who grew up during the depression didn’t expect much from life, because things were so hard. But the people who were persistent in getting a job, eventually got them. This book would be helpful to young Christians and even those who have been following Jesus for a while, to remember those starting out who may need Godly mentors. Overall, this book gives a balanced approach to making decisions. God is able to work in you, through you and in spite of you to accomplish his purposes. Trust in God’s love, regardless of your temporary circumstances. Just Do Something and don’t be lazy.

Helpful for Millennials and their parents!
I bought the book for someone else, hoping they would learn and "just do something." As is often the case, it helped me do something to help, educated and gave me some understanding so I could be more compassionate.

FINALLY! RELIEF! (31yr old wife and mother)
I enjoyed this book so much. If demystified the Will of God. I feel as though( and maybe this has to do with the modern church) we are told to find God’s will, and God has a great will/plan for our lives.. and it almost always has to do with a job/what type of career God has for us. So, when I’m sitting waiting for this one career to happen (or I think should happen) and it’s not happening or it honestly just doesn’t make sense with family, discouragement can settle in. Now I have the opportunity to go back to school for something else that I’m interested in, that would be a great career and help to my family… but I had the gut wrenching feeling .. you know? Asking “ is this God’s will for me to go back to school? What if that other thing is just right around the corner and I’m settling and the rest of my life will be lived in regret?!” These were my constant thoughts. I’ve wasted so much time waiting for ‘God’s will’ I.e. my supposed personal calling/ vocation He had for my life. Years, wasted and agonizing over. Now I’m taking steps forward towards something that I’ll have to work hard for, and take steps forward. No more sitting on my hands. Time will pass regardless, and I’m doing a disservice to God, myself, husband and kids by waiting and doing nothing. It’s time to move forward, get my hands dirty and trust God will work everything out in the end. No more sitting around.

This book was very insightful and relatable for me. His simple yet profound insights how God is “on our side” and doesn’t have this hidden plan he expects us to figure out is very relieving. It is short and easy to understand. Was delivered quickly and in good condition.

I’ve recommended and given this book on God’s guidance to so many people; it is clear, biblical and wonderfully short. Kevin de Young has done a brilliant and brilliantly concise job demystifying and applying the enormous truth of God’s sovereignty for ordinary Christians. If you are a Christian struggling with understanding how God’s sovereignty intersects with your agency or trying to make a big decision, this book will help you think and act in a godly way in the context of God’s character and guidance. It’s wonderfully biblical, practical and non-mystical. It’s even quite funny in parts and as the author puts it - it is wonderfully liberating when it comes to the fearfulness so many of us feel especially around big decisions. If you are exploring Christianity, this is also a great book to read in terms of learning about the character of God and how living in relationship with him through Jesus wonderfully impacts and can liberate the way in which you make decisions in your everyday life.

Superou minhas expectativas! Gostei bastante, o autor escreve bem então a leitura é tranquila, você consegue entender muito bem cada argumento dele. Além disso, ele faz um bom uso das passagens bíblicas (tem um bom número de passagens, mas poderia até ter usado mais)
