Every so often you come across a product that is so far beyond all competition in build, design, and quality that it becomes category and genre-defining. Like how Apple was for the original iPhone, or Cadillac for the automobile or Rolex for watches. Brands that stood apart in function and design, that elevated the mundane to the best-of-the-best in quality and beautiful execution of it's role. It's not hyperbole to say that's what HammerHead has done with this shower arm. After getting tired of extension arms failing on me, with the nuts/washers giving out, popping off, or the arms constantly sagging as they couldn't support modest weight, I sat down and researched if there was anything truly different available. I'd gone through at least 4 different arms the past few years and they were all of similar build and price range. I had nothing against Chinese products but they were all the same low-cost poor design, and that included even more expensive brands that claimed to be higher-end. I had nearly given up and thought I may have to install a bracket from the ceiling to support the shower head, which was not a good option as a renter... That was until I found this extension arm by HammerHead. This shower arm is fundamentally different than all other competitors, not just in it's quality of parts, but in it's engineering. All the other arms suffer from grooves are less than 1mm and use plastic washers mostly and it's just a matter of time until they slip out of place even when tightened to the max. And even if they do use metal parts the locking grooves are too low and easily twist. Hammerhead is entirely different. It actually locks into place and can handle the torque and pressure that running water adds to the weight of a large shower head. I've owned this shower arm extender for nearly 6 months now and it is by far the best shower arm I've ever used or seen, full stop. It's strength is truly incredible. When HammerHead says it can support 10lbs of weight, they mean it (I tested it with a weightlifting plate). As a man that's on the taller side being 6' 4" I've always used shower arm extenders but would constantly have to fiddle with them every few weeks to months and replace them regularly. Those days are over. HammerHead is the only company I will buy from in the future for anything shower/bath related, either here on Amazon or on their website where they often have sales and promotions. Starting my morning with a beautiful relaxing rainfall shower is often the highlight of my day, it's a small thing in isolation but it provides a few minutes of peace and tranquility that I so appreciate. The only comparison I can make is that feeling of showering in a ultra-high end hotel, a moment of bliss. It wouldn't be possible without this shower arm as I can't change my shower pipes. This arm is more expensive than it's inferior counterparts, but I would have paid twice as much for it considering how excellent a job it actually does, and I have every confidence it will last a lifetime. I can't overstate how differentiating this HammerHead shower arm is in a sea of mediocrity. They've made a customer for life. (I use my real name and write real reviews. Very high quality. Costs more than many others I looked at (in fact, more than the new shower head I attached to it), but seems worth the extra given the quality. Smooth and easy installation. No apparent impact on water flow or pressure. Note that the toothed joints are very stable, but the design somewhat limits the positioning possibilities, since the joints can only be positioned where the teeth will allow. It's a bit too long for my shower stall though, making it hard to find a workable position for the shower head. Seems like there'd be a market for one of this quality that was only 5-8 inches long (or one of the same length with an extra joint in the middle).

They were out of stock of the shower head system so I had to buy this separately. Amazing build quality on our rain shower system and adjustable arm. All the parts are metal and it cost less than a Moen that's 3/4 plastic. Highly recommend this company's products.

It took a long time to get it installed. I needed it because I'm petite and my hand-held shower is up so high, I can't reach it and have to stand on the edge of the tub to get it down. Not safe, so I got this to lower it. You have to use a wrench to get the wing-nut portion loose, so don't give up when it refuses to move. Once I got the extension facing down instead of out over the tub, I was able to attach my hand-held shower head and now i can reach it easily! Very solid and well made. No leaks.

Took a while to get it working correctly. Had to buy this extension for a showerhead I could not put on my old spout/neck from the wall due to being unable to take off that spout/neck. If you are leaking right after the initial hexbolt connection you have to use both the gasket that comes preinstalled and the extra gasket on top of eachother if your head spout/neck doesn't screw on enough to reach it. Was able to fix the leak this way but had to do some deeper research to find out. The hex screw that comes with the kit to screw in the special lock-in screws at the start is pretty cheap. Tried to use other hex screws to compensate but only the one that comes with the kit could fix it unless I went to the store and found an exact replacement. Otherwise no other issues so far.

Watched the video. This was my second attempt at finding an extension that would not leak. Video made feel confident about buying this item. When it arrived, I quickly installed it, having zero issue installing it. Turned water on, NO LEAK. Have used every day over a week, no problems. Works perfectly. At this point, I would recommend to my friends.

This is def higher quality than another one I had. You have to tighten the heck out of it or it will leak at the base so be prepared to wrench. Mine got scratched up because I really had to tighten it and it kept leaking but finally stopped leaking. The system is similar to another I had but that one was only 5” and I wanted to have quality materials in my shower. I really think the brushed bronze color is beautiful and the plumbers tape they give you is very high quality. Have no clue wjat some of the other parts are for but I’ll save them. This is a quality product and I would get it again and don’t regret getting it. I have a filter on my shower so liked it could hold so much weight.

A sturdy well designed quality product that will stand the test of time.

Bought a cheaper version several years ago (took a long time to troubleshoot leaks). This one is definitely the better version, well engineered, easy to install and solid. Well packaged!!!! The best shower extension arm you can buy! Highly recommended.

An excellent addition to the 8 inch HammerHead Rainfall shower head I purchased. The only complaint I'd have is a marketing one: the video recommends the extension arm but it took me way too long to find it. I almost gave up and went to another head (in fact, I almost bought the other head, but inadvertently stumbled back to the HammerHead page - where I dug some more, and found it...Glad I did!
