This ebook is a must read for Christians and new believer in Christ Jesus, on how to know if they have received the Holy Spirit. It also includes the importances of the Pentecost when the believers of Jesus were first given the Holy Spirit. This ebook will help teach you how to strengthen your faith, and submit your will over to God, so you can receive this greatest of all blessings. The language might be a bit dated in the text, but it won't take away from the message. I highly recommend this ebook, and if you do purchase it discuss it with your religious leaders that can give their interpretation of the meaning of the Holy Spirit. A clear, concise explanation of who we are meant to be. He gives the roles of God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit in our lives.

I am a Christian who tends not to be traditional. Yet, this book gives me so much information on the existing Christian faith, being entirely reasonable and comprehensive. Andrew Murray does not think highly of the church of his time. (His life was from 1828 - 1917 in South Africa.) He tends to think that most Christians do not give all to God, to Christ, and to the Holy Spirit. His doctrine can be summed up as: The gift of the Holy Spirit is from God. God sent Jesus to obediently die and atone for our sins as sins came from human disobedience. If we accept Christ with all our heart, might, and mind, together with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will become a new person, clean and free from sins, consciously attain and express the holiness of God, as had been God's purpose at creation. To explain his doctrine, Andrew Murray uses beautiful words punctuated with clear explanations. The followings are some quotes I find worthwhile: "The Word, preaching, and means of grace will become a hindrance instead of a help if they are not in demonstration of the Spirit." L. 609 "Only the vessel that is utterly empty of everything can be full and overflowing with this living water." L. 871 "The law that prevails at every stage in the progress of the Kingdom of God is: 'Be it unto you according to your faith.'" L. 963 "The redemption of Jesus has no other aim than that God should again become everything in our heart and life." L. 1602

The roughest part of this book is its pre-Azusa-Street-Revival usage of the term "Pentecostal" to refer to the time after the Holy Spirit, rather than the ecstatic and chaotic nonsense that passes as the "Holy Spirit" and "Pentecostal" today. Once I got past that, the book became quite revealing.

This was my first time reading this book and I was able to glean from it good knowledge and practical wisdom regarding the Holy Spirit, I’ll definitely be reading it again!

I have just recently been introduces to this author. I love the passion that comes across in his writings. This was a very readable book. The print was large enough making the reading easy and pleasurable. When reading books or sermons by this author one cannot help but feel the Spirit stirring around within you. You feel a great need to read and absorb more of what he has written for he seems to absorb the word and makes it part of him and his writings make you want to do teh same. Very inspiring book.

Andrew Murray's teaching continues to encourage and challenge. He is an author who through the Holy Spirit opens our eyes.

Excellent book. A must read, for those who want to be more than an ordinary christian. In the old testament other nations were circumcised in the flesh to have the blessings of the Jews. Now we all need to be circumcised in the spirit to receive the blessings of the Lord. This book helps in the understanding and the leading to experiencing the Holy Spirit. I highly recommend this book.

This is a great book of Andrew Murray. Praise Lord, the book still being published in 2025. It is amazing to read a book which was written 130 years ago. Andrew Murray was so great in guiding & teaching what is the Spirit of Christ. This book shows the essential life of a Christian daily life. May Lord bless whoever purchased the book abundantly.
