Very sturdy and sharp.
This is the real thing. It is well made, sturdy, componenrs fit tight, movements are smooth, blades are sharp and appear to be durable. It comes apart easily for cleaning and an effective cleaning brush is included. Variable controls are sensibly positioned. I didn't know I needed this so much til I got it. Big thumbs up.

Easy to Use
Love my new mandolin slicer! It is easy to use, built well, stores easily when collapsed and multi faceted with sharp blades. A great gift for someone wanting a mandoline, worth the price. I don't have to worry about slicing my fingers any longer!

A really great overall product
I love this mandolin! The sealed cups on the bottom of the mandolin really keep it in place while in use. I've used it for multiple vegetables and I really used it a lot with potatoes too make homemade scalloped potatoes. One day I will make potato chips because of how thin you can get those potatoes with this mandolin. Even the boyfriend loves it, and that is really saying something! The safety feature really got to me. You do not put your fingers near that incredibly sharp blade; and if you've ever used one of the older mandolines, you know you have to protect your little fingers before they get chopped off. I also enjoyed the convenience of how it folds up for easy storage. I would definitely recommend it and I have to others.

Very sturdy
It's bigger than I thought it was gonna be. Easy to put together, operate and use. I'm having problems cutting and chopping so this is amazing for me! It's worth it for me. Worth every penny I spent on it. It's sturdy and doesn't move with the suction cups. The handle is easy to push. Since it pulls apart to clean it's not as hard as some people say. The brush helps clean the grooves. I recommend this as a time saver if nothing else.

Why is this NOT in your cart already?????!!!!!
FABULOUS! THIS is what I have been looking for in a mandolin slicer! Safety is indeed "first" with this design. You literally have to go OUT OF YOUR WAY to be put in ANY danger with this setup. Not saying you "can't" get hurt, but that you REALLY have to work at it and ignore ALL of the manufacturer's warnings for usage, in order to hurt yourself with it. Dials for all kinds of thicknesses, that are extremely intuitive. "One blade to rule them all" design, instead of having to switch between various attachments. Overall blade "size" easily fits a russet potato without having to "cut it down" to fit in the chute. Same with a peeled onion. Baby carrots fit long-ways in the chute bottom, which helps for julienne. Slice, julienne, dice... all in one. Just turn the knobs for which you want. Two knobs are specifically for the "julienne" blades, so you can either go wide julienne or narrow. I haven't tried it yet, but I bet you could even do a waffle/lattice type cut design, with how much versatility the knob adjustments give. Locks hold everything in place, so this doesn't just "accidentally go off" on its own. You literally have to push down to make any cuts. The blades are behind a protective flap in the top. It breaks apart very easily for cleaning, with a few simple spring buttons and a spring clamp for release, and the included cleaning tool is perfect for getting out food particles WITHOUT endangering your hands. Snap it all back together and put in the dishwasher for sanitizing. There is a snap-in cover for the blade section for storage, instead of having to keep the loading chute attached all the time. As for food prep, look out! Holy crud does this thing go thru produce like nobody's business! "Fast" doesn't even begin to define quickly it will go through 5lbs of potatoes! We were literally running out of space in the catch bin, in under a minute. I have tried from 0 to 10 on the thickness cuts, and just wow. Want chonk size? Go to the max width, and be prepared to go through a russet in under 10sec. Need rice paper thin? Go to the other dial extreme and use the potato slices as tracing paper. Shred an entire head of cabbage in under a minute. Slice an entire bag of onions in a matter of minutes. Julienne an entire bag of baby carrots without fear of shredding your fingers. Coleslaw base and potatoes and onions for scallop casserole, done in less time than it takes to warm the oven. Kid you NOT. (Yes, I actually timed it one evening!) Tomorrow we'll be using this critter to make some aehobak saeu bokkeum (korean stir-fry zucchini with shrimp), and I can't wait to see how fast it goes through the zucchini and squash prep (which normally takes me quite a bit of time - sometimes upwards of 30min - hand-slicing the julienne sticks, including seeding and cleaning, and cutting off the ends, then lining everything up, cutting into nearly equal lengths, etc). I already know it is going to breeze through the carrots and onions, LOL! This slicer has it all, for a ridiculously low price tag. If you are looking for an extremely versatile mandolin slicer that won't hog cabinet space, let alone break the bank, THIS is the one you want! (sorry, it's currently IN the dishwasher, so i can't grab a quick pic of it, at this time! i may have to grab some pics this weekend during the bokkeum prep, and update this review. we use it so often, it spends more time either in use or in the dishwasher, than in the cabinet! ROFL!!!!)

French fries
This is great bought to make home made fries to freeze for later. Tear through 8+# with ease. Little interesting to clean but works out just fine. And folds flat for easy storage. Oh these blades are sharp.

My old mandolin slicer is now obsolete.
This gadget is indispensable. I have had several mandolin slicers in the last 50 years, but this one is by far the BEST. It arrived today, just in time for me to make my next batch of homemade dog food. It sliced multiple carrots and sweet potatoes easily into julienne strips which I then diced. I was done in record time since the hopper is large and holds the raw food securely. I also made paper thin slices of onions for a salad. This will make my kitchen prep time and cleanup simple and speedy! * The slicing unit comes out from the housing easily and rinses clean. The supplied brush got the last few slivers of veggie out of the slicer easily. * The chopping mechanism is safe, secure, and powerful * The thickness of the slices are numerous and the julienne options allow you to make the ideal size from french fry to spaghetti-thin. While the price is a bit high, the product is well worth it. I would buy it again in a minute.

Its a great kitchen tool But!!!! Its only helpful and save time if you have big party and you are preparing salads or need dicing onion Its not practical for a small family of 3/4 to use it to save time and Labor on daily basis Its takes a lot of time and labor cleaning which really is a pain especially the small pieces of onion and cucumber gets stuck to the sliding parts and are very hard to clean taking your time and waste water too So really you are not saving time unless you have to prepare lot salads for a big party etc Nit worth for a small family Also while dicing my onions kept falling tight and left instead of falling directly into the provided tray. You have to improvise to save falling onion or cucumbers

I'll make this short and sweet. It works as described. No, better than described. If you are scared to death of your mandoline as I was, look no more, you found the one you need. I really do not believe a safer mandoline can be produced, especially one that works as well as this one. Easy to unbox and use and I LOVE the extra larger feed. You will too. Also easy to clean. EDIT: If you use setting #8 to make a thick cut on potatoes before slicing to make fries be SURE to use the food pusher. I damn near cut off the tip of my finger yesterday. Hurts really bad, blood everywhere for a about 30 minutes too. Not sure if my finger nail will grow back or not but I THINK it's gonna be okay. The reason I bought this is because I was terrified of my regular mandoline and thought this one would be very very safe. I can attest that on the #8 setting for slicing BE VERY VERY VERY VERY CAREFUL. I will not be using mine again and will give it away explaining why.
