Cheapest and the best of all of them!
Reminds me of my rice cooker. Perfect rice every time. Just turn it on and it does its thing and best of all, it was very inexpensive. I purchased this while waiting for a replacement for my larger 4 slice toaster that just died. I mean, how long can a normal person go without a proper toaster? Not long if you're me. This toaster was twenty bucks. The long and short of it is that this toaster makes better toast than the $150 one! Absolutely perfect on BOTH SIDES of the toast and Both slices equally browned. A new experience for me to be sure. You can't fit some of the fancy big ass sourdough slices in it (you have to cut them in half) but that's no biggie is it? I wind up cutting the in half anyway after I butter them! Run don't walk if you want the perfect little toaster. It's biggest feature is that it's SIMPLE and it works.

Great toaster!
I’ve been really happy with this Amazon Basics 2-Slice Toaster. It’s simple, reliable, and does exactly what you want a toaster to do without costing a fortune. The 6 browning settings give great control. The extra-wide slots are a big plus—they easily fit bagels and thicker breads without squishing them. I also appreciate the dedicated cancel, defrost, and bagel buttons, which actually work as intended. Cleanup is easy thanks to the removable crumb tray, and the black and silver design looks sleek on the counter. For the price, this toaster feels like an excellent value and a solid everyday appliance :)

FOR an economy toaster--this is a very good buy! Better than the "expensive Brand" I had. before.
IF you're looking for a cheap toaster, this is a good one. I agree with other users that the setting line (points to what setting you're on) is (was) very hard to see. I have a white very fine marker (paint pen at hobby stores) and marked it with broader line and brighter, easier to see. I have had the cancel button not work several but not all, the time. It's ok because I somethings just want my toast lighter. Over all I really like the toaster and would recommend it to others. OH-- ONE warning. IF you're like me and love to have the sesame seeds toasted on the top of your bagel--DO NOT use the bagel setting, but for plain bagels--the setting is good. I LOVE to have the top of my bagels toasted! The bagel setting only toasts ONE SIDE of the bagel??

Finally a toaster that does its job without the price gouging
Finally a toaster that toasts without a price gouge. I have tried several toasters and I've been frustrated and shocked to find that it's rare these days to buy a toaster that actually does its simple job. So crazy! I'm happy to say that I finally found the winner and it's one of the least expensive (as it should be, a toaster simply toasts the outside of a slice of bread for goodness sake). I love that this toaster looks nice (I have the black and stainless steel), doesn't take up a lot of counter space, the slot size can accommodate thin or thick bread/bagel, and it toasts evenly on both sides of bread in both slots. One small thing that makes a nice difference is that it has the push up feature on the lever so that if I'm toasting a shorter piece of bread I don't have to dig in there with a butter knife in order to get my bread out. With the push up feature I simply lift the bread up to where I can easily grab it. I would say that it toasts more slowly than my last toaster, but that's not a big deal. It's simple, effective, and priced right. I totally recommend it.

Decent little toaster
Nice little toaster, no frills, does the job. Works well, especially for the price. Color and appearance match the pictures, the slots are wide enough to comfortably fit bagels and long enough to fit slightly longer slices. The six settings are good for getting the toast levels you want, though even at 5 (of 6) it doesn't get overly dark if you like your toast very dark. I skip the bagel setting as I like a crispy crust, but when used it does toast just the inside and leaves the outside of the bagel warmed but untested. The control buttons feel solid enough and easy to press. Definitely happy with the purchase.

Has Design Flaw, But Otherwise It Toasts
When it works; it works well. For those who say it stopped staying down, keep reading. I used this toaster maybe six times before it stopped holding down. I stopped using it for a bit and then decided to take it apart to see what I can do. Turns out, the metal plate the electromagnet grabs, is either about 0.5-1mm too small, or the tabs that hold it are too long. After bouncing up when the toast is done, there's a chance it falls back over the pivot and slips out under the hold tabs. This makes the plate unable to sit level and attach to the magnet to hold the bread carriage down. I've attached images of the problem. A quick fix; you can attempt to pick up the toaster, lean it back, and shake it to make the metal plate fall back into position. Otherwise, a more permanent fix is to disassemble the toaster, and very, very gently fold the tabs down so they wrap under the plate a little and prevent it from shaking out of position. This requires a triangle bit, there's five screws on the bottom. Also pulling the handle off the front is difficult, but doable. Just make an even, hard pull. There's a single cable going to the controls on the front with a push-down lock. Remove that and take the top off the toaster, then push the tabs down as in my images. tl;dr Design flaw, shake the toaster to fix temporarily. Otherwise, decent toaster.

A Great Toaster If Treated Well
I purchased this toaster slightly over 3 months ago. I had reviewed all of the ratings prior to the purchase and was cautious. I'm here to tell you that this toaster works like a charm. Although it does toast slightly unevenly, the toasted bread has all the attributes of toasted bread other than looks. I treat it with living care (I don't beat it up) and it works perfectly. I highly recommend it. It does the job.

Great Price Point for features...
Great Price Point for features, only issue I have so far is its so light the feet don't prevent it from slipping when you want to press one of the 3 mode buttons on front (bottom left - Cancel, Frozen & Bagel) It's being so light and easily sliding on counter is only reason I dinged it a star.... Outside of that it looks sturdy, looks nice in kitchen, makes great toast (**caveat here - if bread is irregular shape browning will be irregular as well**) Time dial seems linear and without detents you can adjust level of toasting fairly infinitely. Haven't tried the frozen cycle for have done regular bread, 21 grain bread, KETO breads and bagels and am very please with results. Two Thumbs Up -- Highly Recommend it if your on a tight budget and just need a decent toaster
