H.E.O Mask - Optimal Ratio Moisturisation Two-Step Overnight Hydrating Face Mask - 2 x 50ml

I have quite dry skin, and Medik8 HEO Mask has been a fantastic addition to my routine. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft, and comfortable by the morning. I love the two-step system, it feels very nourishing without being heavy or clogging pores. After using it regularly, my skin looks healthier and more balanced, especially during colder months when dryness tends to get worse.

This Medik8 two step overnight moisturiser definitely shows results the following day after using it at night. My skin feels softer, dewy, and more pliable to the touch. It will take repeated use and time to verify it's efficacy in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, but given the deep moisturisation it provides, I'm confident that it could work. There are two steps to applying it. Firstly there is the hyaluronic mask in the blue bottle, which is has the consistency of a watery gel. This is cooling and soothing on my face, and on it's own feels like a pleasant, light moisturiser. This is left to absorb for a few minutes before applying the emollient cream. (A word of caution, when I opened the lid there was a lot of gel stuck to the inside of the cap. Perhaps because it is watery it had leaked through the opening. Instead of placing it on it's lid it would be better to store the bottle on it's side or upside down to prevent this.) The cream is waxier and thicker, and like the prior application, rapidly absorbs into your skin. After applying it I feel as if something is happening, a slight tingle, though no reactions, it's a sensation of knowing that there is something physical on your skin. This is left on overnight to let the product get to work. There is definitely a noticeable difference in the texture of my skin. It feels plumper, doughy, and silky. I am female and 50 years old. I like that this product isn't biased towards men or women. It is completely odourless too. My skin is more oily than dry, but I have fine lines and wrinkles. I can have very bad reactions to new products and sometimes come out in a red rash or get spots, but happily, no negatives after using this. I think given the cost of the product, I will concentrate it on the most needed areas. I am pleased that the packaging box is ethical, the bottles can be recycled and this is made in the UK.

I put this on half my face and neck and the back of one of my hands (as I knew I was not going to photograph my face) and got up the next morning expecting to see the relevant halves deeply hydrated, visibly plumper and glowing - much to my immense disappointment I could see no difference, even when looked at with magnifying mirror or photographed and enlarged. Can you tell which hand I used it on? Tried again the next night thinking it may take more than one application although the description gives the impression you use at night and it works while you sleep. Again I got up full of anticipation only to be disappointed. It does say to use two or three times a week so I will do this until it runs out and see if the half of my face I am trying it out becomes visibly plumper, hiding the lines, and glowing. Will revise my review if improvements show over time. Oh, by the way it was my right hand after two nights.
