This nail strengthener is the perfect product for someone who wants to grow out their natural nails, because it reinforces keratin and it helps to stop your nails from splitting and peeling. Before you buy please understand that this is a nail strengthener with sheer color, and this is not a traditional nail polish. This product is focused on nail health and the sheer coverage is only a beautiful bonus, especially for those who struggle with yellowing nails or want results with a touch of color. But with the proper technique, this sheer nail polish still looks beautiful on the nails. I recommend applying 2 thin coats on the first day, and then adding 1 thin coat each day for the next 2 days. Wear it in total for 5-7 days before removing and restarting the cycle.

Well, first of all there needs to be a classic red, a white, and a black. This polish is their best formulation and former nail tech and Essie is the only brand I buy. they need to switch every color in their arsenal to this formulation and then I will be happy. But until then it’s horribly limited. I just want a really great bright red. I want a great black Onyx, and I want a great white. And maybe a really super shiny topcoat designed to go with it I would be super happy.

Online the color is pink. In reality, it’s the color of silly putty. And, I can’t return it. Good times…

Essie Treat Love &Color nail strengthener is my go to solution for verticle splits in nails. My favorite color is Berry Best 79, which coordinates well with my pink Otter Box cover. I only gave it four stars because I can’t find that color, and the next closest color is darker than I would like. Before heading out I brush on a fresh coat to keep it fresh looking over a few days. It doesn’t last a week, but it does keep a split nail from snagging till it grows out if protected with Treat Love & Color. This product isn’t available locally anymore so I was glad to find it here.

I love Essie nail products & this color is one of my favorites - not my first purchasing & I will be back again! It has excellent coverage for being such a light color. If you're like me & don't like a lot of color on your nails, then this one is for you!

I have yet to see whether it will strengthen my terrible nails. I tried to purchase "sheers to you," but that was not available. This color seemed close, so I tried it. The product was delivered on Friday. I applied it to my nails, having waited a while between coats, because one reviewer said it took a long time to dry. I find the polish to look quite chalky, though I loved the brush. As another reviewer mentioned, it does streak a lot, but that could be my nails. I did apply three coats and it looks okay, but not great. I applied Essie Speed Setter the next morning, which gave the polish shine and it looks better. Last night, after washing dishes, I noticed that two of my nails that constantly peel, had the polish peel off at the tips of my nails. It has only been two days, so I am still crossing my fingers that it will help reduce the peeling and I will like it more then. I will update in about a month. UPDATE: It has been several months since I purchased this nail polish. I did find it in other sheer colors that work better. The good: It stays on my nails for about 4 days, which is longer than most other nail polishes. The bad: My nails are peeling every bit as much. After purchasing 4 bottles in various different colors, I am trying Julep - Take A Breather, to see if that works any better.

For easy days of not wanting to go full month on a manicure ie base coat + polish + top coat. This gives a great natural sheen, dried quickly. 2 coats followed by top coat is perfect. Great price point

I keep my nails natural but in the winter they tend to split horizontally, and then I deal with a split nail that's too low to trim safely, and hurts until it grows back in. I've only used this polish for a few weeks and I absolutely love it! First of all it feels like my nails can breathe, which is important to me. My nails haven't really split since using it and they're growing longer than they ever have before. The color looks like natural nails only prettier, and it's sheer as long as you put on thin coats, otherwise it looks opaque and streaky. It's easy to take off, too, which they recommend each week, but I will enjoy this little ritual because this polish is so effective and pretty.
