Hatch Restore 2 - Slate (2022 Model)

The sunrise alarm is a standout feature—it gradually fills the room with warm light, making waking up feel much more natural and less abrupt than a traditional alarm. The sound library is also impressive, with a wide variety of white noise, nature sounds, and relaxing audio to help you wind down at night. The ability to customize routines through the app makes it easy to create a calming bedtime environment and a gentle wake-up experience. It also has a sleek, minimal design that looks great on a nightstand, and the soft ambient lighting doubles as a relaxing bedside lamp. Overall, the Hatch Restore 3 is thoughtfully designed and a great addition to any nighttime routine. Highly recommend for anyone looking to create a more relaxing way to fall asleep and wake up.

First off, it's a very nice clock. I'm embarrassed to admit one of my favorite things about it is that it's chic and looks great on my nightstand (see photo). I got the cocoa and it's a really beautiful brown. It gets nice and bright to wake me up in the morning. It also has good sound quality for it's size, I was impressed. I also really like that the time display automatically dims, and you can do a simple tap to make it come up again. The buttons have a really nice/satisfying subtle click, they're easy to use even in the dark. The clock is easy to snooze and easy to turn off your alarm. I like the options to pause and switch between the unwind routines, as well as the button to turn the alarm off totally (for days I let myself sleep in.) I bought it to upgrade from a different sunrise alarm that I had, so I didn't understand the whole deal of the routines, so that was a really nice surprise. I have been working to get off my phone before bed, but am naturally suspicious of anything that promises to help with that. You have to do the initial set up of the routines on the phone, but once you do that, they're all set and the controls are pretty straight forward. I have it setup now with two different unwinds and a few alarms I toggle on and off depending on when I need to wake up (e.g. some days I gym before my kid wakes up etc.) I really like the short little podcasts that come with the premium subscription. The history one and the "nightly" is very fun! I haven't tried any of the meditations but I like that they're there. I usually listen to podcasts before bed which kept my phone right next to me on the nightstand, but now I listen to the podcasts via the clock and so I leave my phone further from my bed at night, a big win. I don't love that you have to sign up for the free trial of the premium content on initial setup, that was a little annoying. That being said, the content that comes with it is pretty good and I am now a paying subscriber, so they got me there. It's a really nice clock, if you are trying to get off your phone at night and doomscroll less in bed, this will definitely achieve that if you invest the time in the initial setup to get your unwind routines set up. I've had it for a little under two weeks and I'm falling asleep faster and feel better rested. Definitely worth the money.

If you’re trying to create a more peaceful bedtime routine and a gentler way to wake up, I can’t recommend the Hatch Restore 3 enough.

I feel more refreshed and less groggy, which is something I didn’t think a device could actually fix. I also love how customizable everything is—from light colors to soundscapes to routines. You can really tailor it to what works best for you. The sound quality is great too, whether you’re using white noise, nature sounds, or guided meditations. One thing I didn’t expect to love as much as I do is having a consistent nighttime and morning routine built in. If I had to mention a downside, it would be the subscription for full access to content—but honestly, I’ve found it worth it for how much I use it. Overall, the Hatch Restore 3 feels like more than just an alarm clock—it’s a full sleep system. If you’re struggling with winding down at night or waking up feeling exhausted, I would 100% recommend it.

Very disappointing. The hardware is good but the app is unusable. There is a lot of potential in this product but they will only realise it when they throw out the current app and rebuild it with ease of use and flexibility in mind. Honestly this industry is begging for a competitor to come in and show us how this can be done well. Unfortunately Hatch is not that (yet? 🤞). I'd love to return my Hatch 3 and wait for that competitor, maybe they never come but this $200 disappointment is not bringing me any joy.

Love my hatch! I could not recommend this enough. It helps us get a great night sleep and the design is super sleek and aesthetic on our night table. Buy one, you will not regret it.
