As a one to one tutor , I used this yesterday with an 8 year old to help her with these type of non verbal reasoning questions . She reviewed it as a cool idea and liked the write on , wipe off surfaces , but felt that it was too big for her to manipulate effectively and would have preferred a smaller version .

Really helped my son by visualising the problem that needed solving. Easy to use.

Brilliant Tool for the Cube Nets questions on Non Verbal Reasoning in the 11+ - my boys were fearful when it came to this section , but now thanks to this ingenious idea , they are actually enjoying it. Basically 6 magnetic squares ( with borders in 3 different colours ) which can be made into a cube then laid flat to see which sides are opposite and adjacent. The sides have dry wipe surfaces so can draw patterns to emulate the question. Initially I balked at the price , but seeing how helpful it has been , I would buy it again and have recommended it to other parents. Would probably be a useful tool for psychometric tests as well.

I purchased this for 11plus lessons. The cube falls apart every time it's written on and doesn't sit together to create a cube making it useless. The pen supplied with the cube arrived damaged and dried up, so again making it useless. I don't recommend this product.

As a teacher this product is has been really useful for the children in my class who have difficulty visualising patterns and questions that require spacial awareness/imagination. The helpsheet is great for a starting point and has allowed the children to try out different patterns on the cube. The best part of this product is how interchangeable it is. I can use it for a number of different activities (you can put numbers/ maths sums/ spellings on each square) because of the handy dry wipe pens and rubber. Definitely recommend.
