I'm a DIYer putting in a Slimline shower pan fixed in mortar on a concrete floor. Had to cut off the drainpipe after install and any screw up would be catastrophic. I got this product and the one with the aluminum head and spring-loaded blade to compare. After reading a detailed review of the aluminum head/spring loaded system I chose not use it due to possibility of plastic getting caught in the blade (if run at the wrong speed), jamming the head in the pipe. So I used this device which worked really well. The wide white puck on top allows you to slide it around the top of the pipe; you get a nice level cut (or at least as level as the top of the pipe). Several blade options for various pipe wall thicknesses. Allen wrenches included are of OK quality. I practiced on some pipe before using this and felt very comfortable doing what I had to do.

This inside pipe cutter does exactly what it’s supposed to — clean, smooth cuts right where you need them. It’s a huge time-saver for trimming pipe ends in tight spaces, and it fits nicely on my drill. The blade cuts efficiently and leaves a neat edge without much effort.

Must have for a tub installer... Easy drain leveling from the top side.. consistent cutting... Overall a good tool..

I read other reviews, If you can’t use this tool, just step away and call a professional. You probably don’t have the skills to complete the rest of the project. Used for cutting pvc pipe in plumbing application.

If you’re looking at your options on Amazon, let me save you some time……get this one. I ordered two other versions and had to return both due to issues with inaccurate measurements or poorly fitting components. I’ll be keeping this one.

I was very pleased with this. Instructions are clear and performance is fine. It is important to tighten both setscrews on the big depth disc securely so it doesn't slip. Only complaint is the quality of the little hex wrench provided is pretty mediocre and not really up to the task - after 3 or 4 changes it depth is started to deform and get stuck in the setscrew. But otherwise, the primary function of cutting plastic pipe from the inside was very good.
