A very nice collection of tactical puzzles. The book quality is good.

I'm pleased with the Susan Polgar who is a chess tactic champion the book Contains puzzles , actual games she played , skewers ,trapping your opponents pieces & many more tactical things .

I do own a lot of instructive books on painting, modellism, cooking, hunting and so on. From reputable and highly appreciated authors too. And very useful these all are, indeed! But I have to confess Susan Polgar's book on chess is the closest tool for the job at hand that one could dream of. Exquisite! And coming from one of the best chess players in history (regardless of the distinction between men and women) doubled by a more than talented mentor/teacher/educator... enough said. A jolly good read, definitely worth the money (for the most conscientious out there) and a fine addition to a good personal library. I can see myself in several years looking for it again just to exercise my mind a bit... Lovely!

an excellent choice to improve and get better at winning

I have found this to be one of the best chess books i have ever bought, I have a library of around 240 chess books I have collected since the 60s, and I still think this is one of the best books, up there with Nimzowitch "My System!" i have bought this book three times, one for myself, one for my granddaughter and again this week one for my grandson... she put over her ideas with ease and so easy to understand... love this book...

At the start of each chapter (which is dedicated to specific type of tactic) there is a brief explanation on how the tactic works with a few instructive examples. This inclusion has been invaluable to me as it has taught me *what* to look for. Tactics are now something I see potentially emerging in advance and not just something that I randomly stumble upon when it comes to my turn, which has vastly improved my board sense. This is a great book, I just wish there were more puzzles.

This book is outstanding. I have never before actually learned tactics from a book. Here the description is clear and the examples very realistic. a very well written book.
