Cat loves
My cat loves these freeze dried treats. They smell a little but only if you’re really close to it. Can’t smell a thing if the package is closed. She likes the taste, texture, and size of the treat.

Cat and dog approved!
My cat and dog both like these treats! These make great training treats for my dog because they are lower in calories than many of the large dog treats. He likes the flavor and it’s a bit different than many of the typical dog treats. Of course, being tuna, my cat likes these as well. This seems to be a good company and clean ingredients. I’ve purchased multiple times and the treats are always fresh. I would definitely recommend!

Not for me, my family, or my cats.
I have two bengals, and it may be just them but these and the salmon bites were so abnormal with the smell that it was to much for me and apparently my cats. It may be a bad batch but it’s odd it’s with both these and the salmon being so pungent with the smell that it’s odd that both my cats in a instant bite into these and instant gagged and threw up. I did try them again through t the few weeks I had them but it’s just a no go, no interest, and the smell it creates is horrible. I even tried pawing them off on my parents with there bengals who are older then my cats and they reacted the same and even my parents spoke about the smell. Which made me laugh but I couldn’t return these apparently so I just had to throw them away. Would not order again. I’ll post this same explanation on the salmon bites as well. I liked the concepts tho of the freeze dried protein snacks for the cats. Just didn’t work for me or my family’s cats. Apartment my cus I bought most the products on the same purchase I can only do one review. I would like the add I personally like the minnows as my cats use them as toys but definitely eat them, I like the chicken hearts because again, they play with it then devour it. As for the duck liver, they are kind Eh on, but they will eat it selectively. For what it’s worth I would buy the hearts and minnows again, potentially, just not the other products. Hope that helps, but know every cat has its own taste I’m sure. They just weren’t for mine or my parents cats.

My little men love these!
Was skeptical of these at first, they don't look like an actual piece of tuna but when I opened the bag, my two boys were all about these treats! They do smell like tuna and have that crunchy freeze dried vibe. I like treats like these as they have less fillers. Worth it, will buy again.

One Cat Liked Them Too Much
The taste of these treats got a 1 for 1 at my house. Our girl cat turned up her nose at them, but our boy cat gobbled them down so fast I wondered if he did taste them! So they were a hit with him. The reason for the lower stars, is that after two days of these treats, he was throwing up and stopped drinking water, which is something he never did before. I stopped giving him these treats, and watched what he did or didn't eat/drink, his vomiting, and his litter box habits. The poor boy even lost .5 pounds in those couple days (my litter box weighs the cats when they use it). I was just ready to rush him to the vet when he stopped throwing up and returned to normal eating, drinking, and litter habits and is back up to normal weight. Although I cannot verify that the scare was from the treats, and it seems like no one else in the comments had any issues with their cats, I am afraid to try them on my boy again. The package does state to only give a few and to make sure they drink plenty of water (since the product is "dried"), so possibly he had too many for his size.

Clean Ingredients, But Flavor Wasn’t a Hit
I came across these Vital Essentials freeze-dried cat treats while researching healthier options for my cats, and decided to give them a try. While this particular flavor was not a favorite in my household, likely due to my cats not being big on tuna, I do appreciate the simplicity of the ingredient list. With only two ingredients and just one calorie per treat, these feel like a clean and transparent option. I like knowing exactly what I am feeding my cats. The treats do have a mild fishy smell, but it is not overpowering. My main drawback is the price point, which feels a bit high for the quantity you receive. Because of my cats’ preferences, I will not repurchase this specific flavor, but I am open to trying other varieties from the brand. Overall, a high-quality treat with great ingredients, but flavor preference and value may vary.

He’s tried them all, let’s rank them!
My cat has tried the minnows, rabbit, salmon bites, ahi tuna. I will rank them with his favorites and a little note about each one. Minnows- Absolutely his favorites, devoured the entire bag would wake me up every day at 9:00am to get a morning minnow. Salmon bites- Second favorite, loved them. Very stinky but once the bag is closed no harm done. Much more food for your money! Rabbit- Come in a close third behind salmon because he also loves rabbit. They do not smell as much and are quick and easy to give my cat. He enjoys the flavor! Last is the tuna bites- They smelled awful and I felt that my cat preferred them least. They also gave him runny diarrhea so this one will not be a repurchase! Hope this helps!

Cat Wasn’t the Biggest Fan of These
Unfortunately, my cat wasn’t too big on these. She liked them at first and would go after them in her food puzzle, but after a while she lost interest in them entirely. She will no longer use the puzzle feeder if it’s filled with these. It’s strange too, because I also bought the rabbit bites together with these and she loved those all the way through. She also has a big preference for fish and since this was fish, thought she’d love these a lot more, apparently not. Maybe she just doesn’t like this particular kind of fish. Oh well, my family’s dogs will eat these at least.
