Have something nearby to hang onto to reduce your weight on it at first and ensure stability. Foot prints should fit about size 7-8.5 men, size 8-9.5 women perfectly. It comes with 3 extra stones and posts in case you lose some but if it's just lying on the floor that's unlikely to happen. I'd place it on something soft like a rug, carpet or a yoga mat so it'll give a little under your feet. If you did want to travel around with it, it's very light weight and compact when rolled up.
