Perfect for your sourdough era !
Are you in your sourdough era? You definitely need this in your kitchen. I usually use parchment paper when baking my loaves but got tired of so much waste and found this. This silicone sling is perfect for lowering loaves into Dutch ovens without getting g burned. These bake perfectly and are burn resistant. They are a nice gray color and lightweight. The material is nice because the bread does not stick to it at all. Great deal for this sourdough necessity.

Keeps my sourdough bread from sticking to my Dutch oven and clay baker
I bought these silicone slings because they were recommended on an online sourdough group that I belong to. Normally I just free bake on a baking stone, but my mom gifted me a clay bread baker with a glazed interior and the sourdough stuck so hard that I had to soak it off, so when I saw people talking about these, I decided to give them a try. It did keep it from sticking, but it created a little pucker in the bread where the sling creased on the edge of the baker because it was slightly wider than the perimeter of the pan. That was the only negative if you are looking for a perfectly round bread - you’ll need to measure your baker. On the other hand, they exactly fit the bottom of my Le Crueset glazed cast iron bread baker. My method is to let the dough rise in the brotform, then drape the silicone sling over the top of the basket and invert it directly into the baker. Then I score the top of the dough and do any decorative cuts. Into the oven it goes, and after 20 minutes with the lid on, I take the lid off and let it bake for another 20 minutes. The ears on the sling are great for picking it up out of the hot pan, and the bread slides off easily. A quick wipe with a soapy cloth and it’s clean. It’s a lot easier than using parchment in a pan and for the cost, it is well worth the purchase. I’m very happy with them.

Convenient and practical
This works nicely. It’s my first time using a sling. It’s a little smaller than the size of my Dutch oven but it’s not a big deal. Having two is really nice, when I’m baking two loaves I can easily switch them in and out. They’re lightweight and the heat is evenly distributed.

Love these things. I hesitantly purchased them because I was so sick of dealing with parchment paper. I felt like I was constantly wrestling with it to get it in the right position. These things work fantastic and are super easy to use. Plus, they are reusable, which I love. No more parchment, yay!!

I am very new to baking sourdough bread ( this is loaf #10), and up until this point I have been using parchment paper in the dutch over - but not any longer thanks to this silicone bread/dough sling. It worked perfect and was so much easier and secure to handle. In the past, I have been worried about the parchment breaking when carrying out the bread but this worked perfectly. Very very pleased; this is a game changer. I am not sure why I ordered two of them, but no harm in having one in reserve I guess. Great product and the perfect size!

This is a great idea however as the sheet is so thick it leaves a small gap when you put the lid on the Dutch oven. So the base of my bread seemed very pale and the bread was flat! I have not used it since! I will give it another go and see if altering its position and/or placing it in the Dutch oven makes a difference? If someone else has a foolproof way of using this then do let me know.

Great silicon mat for baking! I bake a lot of sourdough at home and tend to use a lot of parchment paper everytime I bake. So pleased I could find a reusable alternate on Amazon! Works perfectly till 250C, not tested beyond that since my oven doesn’t get hotter than 250.
